You can either make this everything bagel seasoning yourself or buy it.
We have a recipe for the homemade version on Hip2Keto.com that is handy to have on hand. I actually used to buy the Trader Joe’s version, but now buy the large economy size of everything bagel seasoning at Costco as it’s inexpensively priced around $5 at my store for 11.5 oz.
It includes a mix of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, onion, and salt that can be added to a variety of foods including this cheese ball appetizer, avocado toast, and air fryer bagels. YUM!

Ingredients
Directions
1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Stack a metal cooling rack on top of a baking sheet pan.
2
In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and Everything Bagel seasoning together.
3
In another small bowl, whisk the eggs together.
4
Dredge each chicken tender in the egg mixture first, and then coat with the breading. Place them on the pan. Spray each side well with the cooking spray.
5
Bake for about 16-18 minutes in the oven until browned and fully cooked. Chicken tenders are cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. I use an instant-read thermometer to check.
6
Optional Air Fryer Cooking Directions:
Place the chicken fingers inside the air fryer so they are not touching. Cook at 400 degrees for 5 minutes on each side. Use a meat thermometer to make sure they are cooked through to at least 165 degrees. Repeat 2nd batch if needed.
Tips for making the best Everything Bagel Chicken Tenders:
- You can make these in the oven or the air fryer and I have included directions for both. I honestly think the air fryer comes out slightly crispier and enjoy that texture very much!
- I like to stack a cooling rack on top of a baking sheet pan when making anything breaded like these chicken tenders! It helps them come out crispy and evenly cooked.
- Spraying the chicken tenders with coconut oil spray results in crispy, browned breaded chicken tenders!
- Use chicken tenders for this idea, or cut raw boneless chicken breasts into thin long tenders first. I actually bought chicken tenders in my last Butcher Box order that I used for this recipe. They are organic and really yummy!
- I have made this using traditional breadcrumbs and panko breadcrumbs. Both are delicious so choose your preference or use what you have on hand.
What a tasty satisfying easy weeknight chicken dinner!
This is a definite winner in my house and teaming up breadcrumbs with Everything Bagel seasoning is genius because it adds so much flavor, and it’s easy to do!
Feel free to dip your tenders in any kind of dipping sauce your family loves like ranch, honey mustard, or even chicken dipping sauce. So good!
Check out what my teammate Jenna had to say after making these for her family:
“I seriously want to try Everything Bagel seasoning on EVERYTHING… what an awesome flavor combination! This was so quick and easy to throw together and is now my favorite chicken tender recipe. We make chicken tenders a lot in this house thanks to picky eaters, and it was so awesome to have a new flavor! Everyone loved these and we will definitely make them again! P.S. These reheat nicely in the air fryer- YAY!”
Easy homemade chicken pot pie is comfort food at its finest.
I don’t have a Trader Joe’s where I live, and I’ve found what (I think) the same seasoning blend at Aldi’s—it’s called Everything Bagel seasoning, also.
Oh perfect yep that’d work great here!
Another tip: instead of eggs, I have used mayo for the coating. The seasoning sticks better to it. You can use low-fat or fat-free mayo also. It adds another layer of flavor to the chicken.
Great tip! I love that idea.
