We’re Obsessed with This Everything But The Bagel Cheese Ball!
Love a good cream cheese appetizer?
I know I do, and this brilliant Everything But The Bagel cheese ball shared by our sidekick Emily during our team retreat has our entire Hip2Save team crushing! This yummy and easy to make cheese ball features the popular Everything But The Bagel Seasoning from Trader Joe’s. It’s so good AND so easy!
This is a fun idea for entertaining last-minute guests, or if you’d just like to treat your family to a creative snack.
This recipe requires just a few easy ingredients!
Really, the main ingredients you’d need on hand are the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, and the Everything But the Bagel seasoning. Costco carries a similar version (and it’s more affordable!) or you can make your own DIY seasoning recipe. I also chopped up some cooked bacon for my cheese ball. It’s completely optional, yet YUMMY.
If you’re trying to keep your diet on the low carb/keto side, be sure to check out this post on Hip2Keto.com – we’ve got a list of keto-friendly dippers for your cheese ball.
Some other fun add-ins would include:
- chopped green onion
- chopped jalapeno
- crumbled bacon
- crumbled bleu cheese
- additional Everything But The Bagel Seasoning
Hip Tip: Once you’ve formed a ball shape, I recommend putting some plastic wrap on a plate and rolling your cheese ball on the seasoning. Then you can also add seasoning to the top, and it’s less messy.
Everything But The Bagel Cheese Ball
yield: 12 SERVINGS
prep time: 10 MINUTES
total time: 10 MINUTES
This cream cheese appetizer features the popular garlic and onion seasoning traditionally served on bagels!
Ingredients
- 8 oz. cream cheese
- 8 oz. shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 slices of cooked bacon, chopped
- 5 tbsp Everything But The Bagel seasoning
Directions
1
In a medium-sized bowl, mix together softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, and chopped bacon. When fully incorporated, form into a ball.
2
Line a plate with plastic wrap and pour half of the seasoning into the center. Place the cheese ball on top and pour remaining half of seasoning on top.
3
Roll the ball around in the seasoning until it’s fully covered. Feel free to add more seasoning if desired. You can flatten the ball into a disk as well using the plastic wrap for more seasoning surface area and easier dipping.
4
Place cheese ball/disk into fridge for 1 hour or until ready to serve. Serve with crackers or sliced veggie dippers as desired.
Oh my goodness, this is GOOD!
I served my cheese ball alongside my favorite Carr’s crackers and melba toasts, but you can also add fresh veggie dippers to keep things low-carb if desired. What a fun idea to take to a potluck or to have around for your next family gathering. Everyone at my house loves this seasoning, so we enjoyed our Everything But the Bagel Cheese Ball so much!

Ah thanks! That’s very sweet Rebecca- enjoy!
Just a heads up Cost Plus World Market carries Everything But The Bagel! Also be sure to sign up as a member they have been giving away free items valid on that day! The other day it was this seasoning 🙂
Can’t wait to try this recipe looks delicious!
Yes! Awesome tip Jackie!
I make this and I add chopped up thin sliced ham. I will definitely try it with the bacon!
My friend makes a similar one with chopped up chipped beef and diced green olives. I’ve made another one like for tailgating: 1 bar of cream cheese, 1 packet of ranch dressing and then rolled around in black pepper. YUM!
Wow I love all those ideas – YUM! Thanks for sharing Amy!
Thanks Lina!!❤️
Sure- enjoy!
I am totally making this, but I am going to use horseradish cheddar instead!
Oh yum!!
I made a similar one with just scallions, flaked smoked salmon, and the cream cheese rolled in EBTB. It was better than the meal I made for Christmas brunch!
Oh my goodness yes!!! that’s brilliant! We love smoked salmon so I’m gonna try that!! Thanks Jenny ❤️
I love your idea – salmon & scallion. I did mini balls with smoked tuna & cream cheese and served them with crackers. I call them tuna truffles. Some ate them as is, no spreading on crackers or cucumber slices.
Anyone else carry a similar seasoning?
We don’t have Trader Joe’s.
We know Costco has a version, as does World Market, and I’m pretty sure Walmart does too. 🙂
My local grocery store (Shoprite) carries the BADIA Spices. They have everything bagel seasoning.
I don’t have a Trader Joe’s either, but I did find it and some other similar ones on amazon!
Just an FYI – I have found that the non-TJ’s brands are way too salty for me. Check the ingredient list, others I’ve bought list salt as the first ingredient, meaning it is the most used. Trader Joe’s uses sea salt flakes and it is not the first ingredient.
That’s a great tip! Thanks for sharing 🙂
i’ve seen them at aldi
I am always looking for a new idea to bring to church potlucks and family gatherings…Love!!! Thank you!
Oh that’d be perfect! Enjoy 😉
I’m going to try this asap. I love this seasons and I just bought the Carr’s brand water crackers at the 99 cent store. Yay!
That’s such a great find Holly-Marie! <3
ALDI has
Aldi and Walmart also have EBTB seasoning, as well!
