for the glaze:

Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 400. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

Stack two pie crusts on top of each other and use a pizza cutter to cut out about 8 rectangles with a top and bottom piece. 16 pieces altogether.

Place 8 of them on a sheet pan. Add a couple of teaspoons of strawberry preserves to each Pop-Tart. Add an egg white wash around the edges of the pastry and stack the top piece on top.

Use a fork to seal the edges around all sides. Add air holes to the top with the fork and more egg wash. Bake for 13-14 minutes in the oven until golden brown. Let cool.

Whisk together strawberry glaze ingredients. Spread on top of the Pop-Tarts and add sprinkles if desired. Enjoy!
Extra tips for making this homemade Pop-Tarts recipe :
- Be sure not to overfill the tarts with filling to avoid it from spilling out.
- I was able to cut 8 rectangle pop-tarts from my pie crusts. I had to hand roll out the scraps to be sure I utilized it all. You could always make them larger or smaller. You could use a large heart-shaped cookie cutter instead. So fun!
- I have made these in the air fryer before. Cook at 360 for about 8-9 minutes until golden brown. Depending on your basket size, you will have to do several batches.
Hooray for some easy Pop-Tarts!
Pour a hot cup of coffee and enjoy! You can make these ahead of time and then pop them in the toaster or air fryer to warm up the next day if you’d like. They are such a yummy treat and so fun to make.
