Nutella Crescent Rolls
yield: 6 SERVINGS
prep time: 5 MINUTES
cook time: 10 MINUTES
total time: 15 MINUTES
Make these delicious pastry desserts as a breakfast treat or yummy snack.
Ingredients
- 8 teaspoons Nutella or hazelnut spread
- 1 can Crescent rolls (8 count)
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions
1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
2
Open can of crescent rolls and separate the 8 triangle dough pieces.
3
Spread a teaspoon of Nutella on each triangle, and roll it up starting with the wide end.
4
Bake at 375 degrees on a baking sheet for about 10-11 minutes until lightly brown.
5
Optional step: Mix cinnamon and sugar together and sprinkle on top of the crescents.
Tips on how to make Nutella crescent rolls:
- You can cut the Crescent dough triangles in half and make 16 mini crescent treats if you prefer!
- Don’t have Nutella on hand? Try chocolate chips instead for a similar variation.
- Ever wonder about making your own Nutella spread at home with hazelnuts?! I have a couple of times and it’s delish.
- The cinnamon sugar dusting at the end is optional, yet tasty. You could also dust them with powdered sugar instead!
- Nutella croissants do taste better warm in my opinion. They can be stored in a covered container for a few days and still be delicious.
Out of all the crescent roll recipes I’ve tried this may be my favorite!

Yum! I have made crescents with chocolate chips in the middle but never thought to try Nutella. Thanks for the good idea!
haha… I love that you called it a breakfast item! I clicked on the link for a great dessert recipe 😉
They look so good ,
Yummy!
I’ve made them with chocolate chips before too, even better when you sprinkle powdered sugar on them. They sound great with Nutella! Will definitely have to try them.
These look yummy and so easy, too. Thanks for the recipe!
looks delicious — great idea!
What does nutella taste like
Heaven! It’s a smooth and creamy chocolate hazelnut spread. Very sweet, very rich.
JA you are totally right 🙂
Nutella taste like a heaven 🙂 if you like sweet stuff 😉 I don’t know how to say better that this 😉
it’s like a melted down candy bar
Chocolate! But spreadable…yum 🙂
WOW! I’m gonna eat too many of these! 😛
Great idea, Lina! I did these once with Nutella and marshmallows inside, gooey and wonderful.
Oh yum!
Ashley is right! Melted down candy bar with a fudge like consistency. Matter of fact if you refrigerate it it’s just like fudge.
And…as a side note……if you put a jar of Nutella in the fridge, a spoonful tastes exactly like eating fudge.
Also the honey butter crescents are good for this
Dear self, ignore this super tempting post, you’re going on that diet you’ve been postponing for the past few months. Lol.
Mayb u can start tomm😉 lol!
Right? One more day can’t hurt, lol!!
Please help me out! Can’t bake 🙁 tried before to bake those crescents, they all came out small, uncooked, and burned! 🙁
Maybe your oven runs hot? You could try moving the rack to the middle if it’s not already there and turning the temperature down…
Also, did your preheat your oven? Sometimes I get in a rush and don’t preheat as long as I should and I end up with bottoms that are too dark.
Try again with an oven thermometer. Just like Erin said, if your oven is running hot, that is a possible reason why they burned. Also, if you used a glass dish to bake, they tend to bake faster. Check the bottoms about five minutes before just to make sure they are not burning. Hopefully those tips will help you 🙂
Could also be your cookie sheet. I once had an old one that would burn stuff more easily than other ones.
A slice of apple with a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar rolled up in the crescent rolls make deliciousness too!
Lina….HAPPY MOTHERS DAY.!!!!! 2 u… thx so much. im trying this….It sounds yummy..Expect ill b making these monday.lol
Thanks!! Enjoy 🙂
I’m going to try it with Biscoff Crunchy Cookie Spread!
Num num num….love the Biscoff spread. It’s “dangerous” stuff–just like the Nutella 🙂
Yum! I have made them with chocolate chips & Rolo candy before but not hazelnut spread!
Lina, could you possibly make this with the new Hershey’s Chocolate Spead?
Sure! Sounds good 🙂
Oh, great idea!! I have some of the chocolate almond & no Nutella lol!
Thanks ladies….gonna try this tomm
I make the same thing but I put the bite size milky ways in the center. Delicious!
Omg yummy ! I love Nutella
Yum! I just might try this! 🙂
I just found a new Hazelnut spread at Wal-Mart that they sell under their Great Value brand. It’s actually imported from Italy. It’s a little cheaper than the Nutella and also delicious. This can be a good option when there are no coupons available on Nutella. 🙂
is it sweeter than nutella? that’s awesome it’s an italian import!
It’s maybe a tiny bit sweeter than Nutella but still great!
I’m going to make these for my Mom-In-Law for a Mother’s day suprise breakfast treat! She loves Nutella.
How about adding a strawberry or couple of raspberries to the Nutella? Has anyone tried that?
Piyamas, I love the idea of adding strawberry! Thanks!
Saw this the other day and just had to make them today…SO GOOD!!
Trying it right now!! Currently in the oven. Can’t wait to give them a taste! Thanks, Lina, for sharing these yummy recipes. Keep ’em coming!
They were a HUGE hit. Loved them! I’ve already passed the recipe on to others. Thank you again!
Oh yeah! I love simple and awesome recipes like this 🙂 thanks for reporting back!
Just made these for dessert tonight. Deeeeelish!! Thanks for sharing!
Great news, you’re welcome!
Does anyone know why this recipe can’t be shared on FB? I clicked on the FB link to share it (four different times) and it’s not working….??
Try highlighting address and copy/paste It into a FB status? Hmm..I’ll look into it, thanks!
Another great use for crescent rolls – cook sausage (not links, but the bulk). Drain. Spoon sausage and cheddar cheese onto each crescent roll. Bake according to directions. Not quite as yummy as Nutella, but a little more protein. I bake in batches and freeze, then you can just heat in microwave and grab as you are going out the door. My kids love them.
I am trying to eat healthy and “clean” but I am not going to lie with the awesome coupons for nutella and this recipe I think it is ok to do once a month HAHA
Once i tried Nutella…i was hooked on the stuff! Jif & Nutella.. nothing like it!
Haha..once a month…bless ur heart!!! 😊
Has anyone tried these the day before? I work 16 hours shifts and after winding down at home before before I end up with maybe 5 hours of sleep. So I’m wondering how good they are the next day or even if I get them ready but not cooked and refrigerate in a air tight container and pop a couple in the oven the next morning while I get ready? Has anyone tried that??
This is one of my kids favorite items. I actually made them for my youngest this morning! For a protein-based option I put a piece of sandwich ham and cheese and roll it up in a crescent roll. My oldest likes the monkey bread knock-off – cinnamon and sugar with butter and chopped nuts rolled up in a crescent roll. Delicious 😋
This would be good with the cookie butter omg so going to try these. I can eat cookie butter on anything. Thanks for another simple and easy recipe
Thanks Juma for stopping by!
Anyone try this using air fryer?
I do the crescent rolls with cheese inside (either a folded up slice of deli cheese or I cut up cheese sticks and use 1/3 stick per crescent) and serve them with soup instead of grilled cheese sandwiches.
Oh yum that sounds good! 👌
i think i’m the only human who doesn’t like nutella, i hate the taste. the rest of my family eats it by the costco sized containers every month, and we use it to bribe my daughters math teacher when she needs extra help lol
I make those at all the time! My kids love them!
Been on a baking kick due to quarantine and made these for my family. Really enjoyed them!
Oh yum and thanks Lin for sharing!
