Ingredients
Directions

Cream together butter and sugars.

Stir in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, salt, baking soda and oatmeal.

Slowly combine dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix.

Mix in caramel chips.

Form tablespoon sized balls with dough onto a silicone baking mat or parchment paper lined baking sheet.

Flatten dough balls slightly with palm of hand or back of spoon.

Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for about 8-9 minutes, until slightly golden brown.

Transfer to a cooling rack and sprinkle with additional salt, if desired.

I’ve been told by many people that the brand Cup4Cup gf flour is amazing. They say you can’t tell the difference. I’m gf(thyroid issues)and getting ready to order some.
I LOVE the King Arthur measure for measure gluten free flour! I do a straight substitution in regular recipes. I really love all of the King Arthur gluten free products, much less gritty and dense than others

If you are Celiac you will need to use certified gf oats also. We use Bob Red Mill
I LOVE their pancake mix! It can also be used in the waffle iron. Sooo yummy. We are not a GF family but found it for a great deal so we tried it. My husband who is kinda picky about his waffles said they are the best waffles he’s ever had!
When baking GF watch out for sorghum flour. It has a gritty texture and unpleasant taste. Millet flour works well in sweet recipes. I normally mix it with rice flour, tapioca flour, and potato starch. Sometimes you can make your own GF flour mixture a lot cheaper than the name brands 😊. Happy baking to you!

1cup ea granulated sugar,brown sugar,shortening,peanut butter mix with electric mixer til creamy than add 3 large eggs beaten. Then add 1 cup ea flour,uncooked quick oats & 2tsp bakin soda & 1tsp bakin powder. Then stir in 1cup ea chopped nuts, coconut,raisins,chocolate chips I have used peanuts or walnuts. Bake 350 for 12- 14 minutes.these are called 10-cup cookies

If you have cookies that become hard, put a slice of bread into the bag or container with the cookies for a few hours or even overnight. The cookies will return to a nice moist and chewy texture.

Do you think I can use Apple sauce in place of egg? My son has egg allergy.
I haven’t tried that personally, but seems like a popular baking substitution online! I think it’s worth a try. I know a lot of our readers have recommended this substitution — tablespoon ground flax seed mixed with 3 tablespoons warm water; let stand 1 minute before using. Hope that helps!
If it’s an egg allergy to chicken eggs, have him tested to see if duck eggs are safe for him. Studies show that those allergic to chicken eggs can tolerate duck eggs.

Hi, do you use the kosher salt both in the recipe and for topping after baking? Or is it regular salt for baking and the kosher for topping? Also, I had of butterscotch chips, that needed to be used. Hope it turns out good too!

Could I use dulce de leche for this instead of Carmel chips? Or would it be to wet
Unsure- I think some type of chip like chocolate chips, caramel, or white chocolate would work better.
These are my husband’s absolute favorite but I can’t find the salted caramel chips anymore. I’m going to try them with butterscotch chips next.
My kroger brand grocery store Fry’s has their brand I sometimes buy! But yes I think butterscotch would be amazing too!
These are some of our favorite cookies but we found they are much better with the mini Kraft caramel bits.
