holding up S'mores charcuterie board

Creating a charcuterie board is always a great snack idea!

This platter of build-your-own s’mores ingredients was inspired by traditional charcuterie boards featuring an assortment of cured meats. It’s such a fun snack or dessert, and it’s legit my favorite outdoor activity to bring inside!

The best part of these trendy snack boards is that there really isn’t any cooking involved and it looks super fancy without a ton of effort.

Disclaimer: We know that a traditional charcuterie board gets its name from using an arrangement of meats and cheese, but since the display is so similar, we’re deeming this as a “charcuterie-style” board as well. 😆

making a charcuterie board with s'more fixings

All you have to do is grab a large serving tray or cutting board and arrange graham crackers, cookies, chocolate, and marshmallows into an epic s’mores charcuterie-style board your family can grab to roast gooey s’mores at your next campfire!

The key to a great s’mores charcuterie-style board is a variety of unexpected cookies and chocolate!

On my board, I included some traditional favorites like graham crackers and Hershey’s chocolate, but then I also included some more creative elements like peanut butter cups and various cookies to shake things up! You can definitely cater your board to whatever your family loves.

Why are sugar cones part of this idea?

I’ve included sugar cones because you can actually stuff them with a roasted marshmallow, chocolate chips, and berries to make a yummy melted treat! It’s another fun method to make s’mores and it’s easy to do, too. The result is delish!

Or you can melt campfire cones on the BBQ grill! 🤤

roasting sticks for s'mores

If you are looking for some great marshmallow roasting sticks, I found some at Walmart!

This inexpensive set of 4 extendable sticks from Walmart works awesome! They extend from 6.5 inches to 34 inches, which makes them super easy to store in a drawer to use later. I also found them very easy to clean! We used them to enjoy this s’mores charcuterie board and they are perfect to use over an open fire.

What’s not to love about this idea!

Any s’mores fan would be excited to look at this board! My family was super impressed and I love that it was quick and easy to put together to enjoy as a special summer treat. I will do this again for a 4th of July celebration too. So fun!

  1. Lori

Lina you are so creative! Your charcuterie boards always look beautiful. I’ll be copying this one for our 4th of July party.

Oh thanks! That sounds perfect! Enjoy <3

Beautiful presentation! Thank you for taking the time to post this! I’d also add a small bowl of marshmallow fluff. You put the strawberry on the fork, apply some marshmallow fluff on top of strawberry , and roast it over the fire till slightly roasted – it’s divine! I look forward to it more than the s’mores themselves!

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Ohhh I love that! Thanks for sharing Tina!

This is soooo creative! I love it! I really like the cone idea also as I’d never thought of it. I’m definitely making this so thank you for the idea. Now we need a whole list of easy picnic type food that travels well for the beach and day trips. Keep these good ideas coming.

Can you link the fire pit in the picture with the blue stones.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Oh it’s a custom one we had a local masonry company build.

  5. Julie Ryan

Can you post the tray link?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Julie! Lina scored that from her Fry’s grocery store. You can find it here. Hope that helps!

Lately I’ve seen articles touting any number of items as making up a charcuterie platter.
Charcuterie has a specific meaning, it is either meats that are ready to eat such as salami, patés, prosciutto, etc. or the place where such items are made and sold.
To call a plate of off the shelf crackers, marshmallows and chocolate, as tasty as they might be, charcuterie is at best a misnomer. Words either have meaning or they are meaningless.

Thanks for taking a moment to comment. We did update the wording above. Hoping that helps!

Cute but decidedly NOT charcuterie. Charcuterie is a french word that means cold cured meat. Cold cures meat is decidedly absent from your cute dessert tray. It is not trendy to be factually inaccurate please correct your mistake. Signed a Cheese monger who works with incredible producers of artisan charcuterie.

Hi Jill! Thanks a bunch for the feedback. We have updated the wording above.

  8. Matt

So where exactly is the charcuterie on this “charcuterie board”?

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Hi Matt! Thanks for commenting. This has been updated.

  9. Sylvia

Just so you know charcuterie is a french word it means a mix of cut meats

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for mentioning that. We have updated the wording.

Real S’mores are made with broken graham crackers, and marshmallows that fell in the dirt, LOL

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

      HAHA very true. Thanks Jodi!
