Oh im soo incredibly envious to anyone that is going to (& should) jump on this offer. White Castle is so groteskly delicious. We just devoured a box this passed week because they were on sale at the store. I cant think of a more unhealthy meal that tastes so yummy. But this is a “in moderation” meal. Do people really order this stuff at full cost? I mean, with the tip included, most drivers expect a tip of at least 5 dollars for medium sized orders, and even with small orders will be a bit miserable with a tip of $3, then you add on delivery costs, processing costs, you name it. I’ve ordered from Grubhub, Uber Eats and Doordash, and the cheapest of the bunch is Doordash, but here’s a catch. If you tip via the app, the tip goes to Doordash if the tip is under 5 bucks. Yes, that’s right, drivers never see your tip via the app under that amount.
Anyway, Uber Eats is stupid expensive of all of them. You can order 8 bucks worth of food and have to pay double, even more, for delivery of it, then pay a tip on top? So you pay almost 3x as much? Come on. I know people use it and pay full price, but these companies are scamming people. You need to pay a delivery fee, AND a tip. Why do we need to pay a delivery fee to the company? If you look at annual reports for some of these companies, you’ll see the amount of profit they are making is stupid, and there’s NO need for a delivery cost to make profit to begin with using a processing fee of even 50c. It costs the company literally 0.01c for every order, but they are charging 3 dollars plus for their profit margin and STEALING tips from drivers.
They use the most ridiculous lies saying that delivery cost is for the business in preparing food, blah blah. Get real. The businesses don’t see this “delivery cost”. It’s factored into the charge that the business has to pay, and more! So it’s these middle-man businesses way of just banking on profit. Just look at court cases and settlements by companies like Grubhub and Doordash. Yes, they like to settle, because they know they have shady business practices.
