      Oh wow! How neat!

  2. Michelle

WOW they actually have this near me…I live in a small town but I could apply for the larger town north of me… I’m hoping I can do this with my 3 year old…it said Sunday and Monday are their busy days which is great better than Saturdays…

    • tracy

You can not shop with your child

    • Jill

Michelle, if you have a degree, you can work from home for VIPKid:) Pays well, too. That’s what I do. If you do and want to email me I can give you info instead of posting in this post:) vipkidteacherjill@gmail.com

      • Michelle

I wish I could do that but I have 2 different associate degrees one on accounting and the other in baking (certified pastry chef) however you have to have a BA… honestly I’m just looking for something till my youngest is back in school than I will go back to work more full time…

        • Rae

Check out some similar services FAQ. I know some people bring their kids dog walking, and food delivery. Though I don’t know anyone who does grocery delivery or what services there are.

    • Michelle

I got a interview right after I applied… I will send in an interview and see…

      • Michelle

Update I got selected!!! I’m still not 100% sure what it all is but I’m in..

Shipt is the best. I hate grocery shopping and this is a big time saver. They are offering 1/2 off the annual fee. Also, if you use this referral code you will save $10: https://www.shipt.com/groceries/?r=CF83CC

  4. Aleshia Jones

“Experienced” shoppers make anywhere from 16-22$ an hour plus tips.
You will not start out at 25$ per hour. They probably have a set base and then you keep tips which can earn you up to 25$ an hour.

    • frecklelily

I’m a Shipt shopper. Experience does not guarantee the tips. Everyone has the same base pay (% of order + $5). So they are counting on tips to bring it up to $25. I average $20/hr and have only done a handful of shops so far.

  5. Leslie

“some clients will ask us to come in their homes”….no thanks.

    • HipMomof3

That was my first thought as well.

    • frecklelily

You may respectfully decline. I’m a Shipt shopper and no one has asked me into their homes.

    • Kyliejay!

Oh I would be creeped out

  6. Mjp123

Hi I spend a ton of time in grocery stores shopping for my other business Is there a timeframe when you need to deliver the products like within an hour or something like that? Also does anyone know how far from your home they will send you? It’s not always the safest where I am 🙁

    • frecklelily

There will be scheduled times. If you say you can deliver between 4-8pm, you might get an order to be delivered between 6-7pm. They also recommend a start time to start shopping. Usually taking into account 2 mins/item. So a 30 item order recommends starting an hour before delivery. I’m a Shipt shopper. HTH!

  7. ticklemaddie

    Oh wow! None for Arkansas

    • CoffeeB

The person placing the order picks the time that they want their groceries delivered.
If you’re the shopper, you pick the store you wish to shop at.

  8. T

$16-$25 an hr to deliver groceries when EMS starts at $9…drives me crazy.

    • Taya

EMS is working a full shift and scheduled regularly. This isn’t the same…it depends on demand. There will be certain weeks you’ll barely make much!

    • Rochelle

Not to mention that EMS is not using their own vehicles, which will cause more wear and tear and require additional maintenance.

      • T

No, they just put their lives on the line everyday. Using your own vehicle doesn’t justify $25 an hr over risking your life. Sorry…

        • Rae

It’s not always the importance of one’s work that determines pay. I mean think of teachers! Yes EMS workers should make more but that doesn’t mean other people should make less.

The average UPS driver earns $30 an hour. They work full days, and they use a company truck… and it doesn’t require a college education though it usually takes awhile, or they have to be an excellent worker to get to that point of going from package handler to driver. In general though package delivery pays decent even with the post office, and Fed-ex.

Food delivery is probably based on your skills like a waitress who’s really great makes more tips.

          • T

True, I just think it should not be that way. McDonalds workers begging for $15 a hr to flip burgers when no education is required should not happen when others like EMS and like you said teachers are making so much less. Just drives me crazy.

    • Mei

The glory of the USA is if you don’t like your work – you can do something else! GO USA

      • T

Yeah ok…I am sure you’d be ok with that when you or a loved one is sick and all of ems have moved on to make more money. These people can’t afford to live yet do it for people like you. Glad to see you’re grateful…

  9. shirley

I have no interest to go inside somebody’s house. I will pass.

  10. Kat

They don’t have one in NJ that’s odd!!!

  11. Colleen

I work for Shipt. The people who make that much are typically picking up several orders per hour. Where I live, maybe 50% of people tip, and tips are really what makes it worth it. It is nice for a little extra money though since I get to pick and choose when I work. As an employee you get to choose which hours you are on the schedule and which store locations you would like to receive shops for. You are able to see the delivery address before accepting the order to see if you are willing to drive that far and comfortable with the area. The actual pay you receive as a shopper is 7% of the receipt total, $5 for delivery, then whatever the tip is.

  12. Laura

Is there a way yo see if this available in my area without applying?

    • ange40

Go to shipt.com scroll down to, more time less stress and put in zip code to decide service is available in your area

  13. Christine

So you can’t look at the area of interest without putting in all your personal info first?

  14. Jill

Yay I applied thanks for letting us know.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

That’s awesome Jill! You’re so welcome!

  15. Elle

I work for Shipt. Most shops average about $12-$15 per hour. This does not include the gas and miles you put on your car which you do not get reimbursed for. Most of us who do it do not do it for the money but for helping those in need. I love my job.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

SWEET! Thanks a ton for sharing your experience with us Elle! So happy you have enjoyed it!

  16. e

To check if Shipt is in your area, go to shipt.com, scroll down to the bottom fo the page (you will see a “More time, less stress” sign), and enter your zip code in the box.

    • Christine

I’m in North Carolina and it shows per my zip code that deliveries are made from Lowes foods, Harris Teeter, Whole Foods, Lidl and Target, now that it’s getting warmer and days getting longer this is something I can do for a little extra cash

  17. jen-CT

    Nothing in CT

  18. Teresa

I love Shipt! With one membership.fee, i can have groceries delivered anywhere shipt works. So when we were on vacation staying in a condo, i ordered and had groceries delivered without needing to spend part of my vacation shopping, finding a store, determining if it’s in a safe area, etc. My parents live 6 hours away, and if they can’t get out, i can have groceries delivered there, too! No impulse buys. The shoppers have brought the groceries right into my kitchen or just inside the door, i let them chose.

    • Amber (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Wow! That sure does sound convenient! AND such a sweet idea to have groceries delivered to your parents! I will have to remember that! Thanks for sharing Teresa!

  19. Kathleen

Do you need special car insurance?

  20. Kyliejay!

Sweet, wish we could do it with children though.

  21. jg

I work for Shipt and love it! The flexible hours are the best part. I would not expect to get paid as much as they say though. It varies a lot. If you want to sign up through Shipt to have groceries delivered to you and save $10 on your first order, please use my link: https://www.shipt.com/groceries/?r=TRYSHIPT44

    Thanks so much!

  22. Stephanie

Just a comment and a question….. my comment , why do we need to turn this into something negative ladies? We could argue all day about how much this job pays and who isn’t making enough for what they do (teachers who are educating our future for example) it wasn’t posted to start an argument….. either you wanna do the job or you don’t…… I’m not in high school anymore and I can’t stand the pettiness …… my question is, why can’t you take your kids along for this job?!

    • Juma

Great post Stephanie😍. I would think that they wouldn’t want/allow you take your kids on runs with you could be some kind of liability issue with them and their insurance under their commercial policy. Also they may feel like kids could/would slow down the time frame of picking up & deliveries. The other issue is also with you own personal insurance company…they may have issues with it just a thought. I would most definitely check with my own auto insurance and see if there are any issues/clauses that would not cover you in the event you were involved in an accident. Rules are always changing and if you don’t ask they don’t tell. I did try to see it was posted on their site so far nothing. But I did find some reviews from current/former employees.. worth the read/research for those interested in earning a little extra income. https://www.indeed.com/cmp/Shipt/reviews

  23. Tiffany

So my question is, who pays for the groceries? Is it paid for before you shop? Or do you buy and then get reimbursed?? Also, for those who said they don’t get reimbursed for gas and wear and tear… I’m sure they either 1099 you or tax and send w2s. You could write off gas and wear and tear as an expense.

  24. Juma

I just posted a comment earlier and it set to have disappeared this has been ongoing since the last update. Some post get posted and some don’t.

Hi Juma! If you have a link in your comment it has to be manually approved so that’s probably why! You should be seeing all your comments now.

    • Juma

Holly thanks good to know so that I don’t accidentally double post unnecessary.

      • Holly (Hip2Save Sidekick)

        You’re welcome!

  25. Jason

Anyone who is interested in working for this company might want to spend five minutes on the INDEED site where this employer is reviewed by current/former employees. There are good and bad reviews, but I do believe many would find it helpful to find out what expectations SHIPT has for employees and how they operate from others’ perspectives.

    • Mommasue

Are there reviews for other companies on INDEED also?

  26. Karen

I apply told me that I was confirmed and I have not been sent anything or any more email . I just wanna make sure that this is not a scam
