  3. Lauren

I think that’s awesome!! Good for them and for their employees.

    • NA

Target insists that their in store executives work their first scheduled day off after Easter to make up the time.

  4. Erica

  8. lg

    Verizon Wireless is also closed

  9. Evan

If you are in Texas, H-E-B is also closed on Easter! They only close on Christmas and Easter.

  10. Martha

Love seeing these stores closed! Good for them!

  11. Nina

Yes definitely awesome that those who want to spend Easter with family n friends will be able to.

  12. Judy

Good. I will certainly not be shopping on Easter Sunday. It should be a day for everyone to enjoy with family and friends. I remember when all stores were closed on Sundays. It was a nice break for everyone. Now there are only a few and they are not stores I would go to anyway.

I think this is wonderful. I hope employees understand what a gift this is and maybe we’ll look into why a company would find it important to have Easter off to observe a celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

    • momof7

      Will look not we’ll.

      • Tiffany

        Seriously?

    • bb

      7! Yikes

    • faith

      Agree!!

  14. Tonya

    Awesome! Enjoy Easter everyone 😊😊❤️❤️

Not everyone celebrates Easter (or Christmas or Thanksgiving). So the whole “that’s the way it should be” argument takes whole large populations of people out of consideration.

I appreciate the list so that I know where to avoid trying to shop for groceries on Sunday if that’s the only day I can go due to work the rest of the week and weekend.

    • cooper

I agree. but I would take out Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of those holidays which everyone can celebrate – Jews, Muslims, Christians etc

      • bw1

There are quite a lot of people who don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, either.

      • Stefanie

Yes, but some of us choose not to celebrate colonization.

    • Michelle

      Absolutely!

    • Christopher M Wilson (@xirian)

Yup, and lots of people who work at these places need those hours so a day with the store being closed could be the difference between them making rent or not.

I don’t support closing stores based on religion, such as the person above who thinks stores should be closed on Sundays again. If someone needs off they should discuss that at hiring and see if its possible. Sunday mornings when everyone is at church are the best time to go get sale items for the new week.

    • Melloddie

I loved those days where I got paid time and a half for working a holiday.

      • Stefanie

Yes! When I worked in retail I loved holiday work for that one reason. It was so helpful in paying rent and food and car costs.

  16. Beth

Agreed, I sure don’t celebrate Easter.

    • CourtneyAmanda

Well, what DO you celebrate?? Anything. Do tell. So I can bash it, needlessly. 🙄🙄🙄

  17. Anne Kellogg

Happy Easter everyone! Many days of the year we are so lucky to enjoy the stores and deals. So, I am thankful these stores are closed this Easter so all the sales associates can enjoy a peaceful joyous day. Again, Happy Easter.

  18. Rachel

At Home (decor superstore) is closed on Sunday as well!

  19. sue

Really? There’s people that are going to be complain about a day off whether you celebrate Easter or not! It’s just a day off!!! It’s not a day to force you to complain about having a store closed. Not everything is about someone! These are traditions that were established in this country regardless of a religion. Enjoy your day with your family and appreciate that some businesses want you to enjoy your day OFF with your family. Happy day off everyone!

    • Carla

Says someone who clearly doesn’t love paycheck to paycheck supporting a family. For some people it is hard to make ends meet and they depend on the hours from one job that doesn’t conflict with their other jobs. A “day off” could mean no food, or late rent. Don’t judge others, someday you might be in their shoes…

      • a. rich

Most employees of retail know up front what holidays they are closed for and should take that into account when paying rent etc.! So sad Easter is becoming a holiday of the past due to retailers and the almighty dollar good for retailers that still do observe it!

      • Stefanie

        Yes Carla. Well-said.

    • Carla

Also it should be there are, not there’s

    • a. rich

      Amen!

      • a. rich

Amen to Sue that is not Carla definitely not Carla!

    • RZ

And not everything is about your “traditions”. No, not everyone celebrates major Christian holidays in this country lol. And the only ones that ever complain are those folks that feel entitled to have every store be closed on certain days of the year. The rest of us just don’t care one way or the other.

      • sue

Do you see that the only ones complaing are the ones upset about having stores closed on Easter??? If a store is open or closed doesn’t affect me at all.. i can make a personal choice to shop or not. Besides there are many other businesses that are open like walmart. Ridiculous.

    • momo

No offense but I’d probably enjoy the day running errands with my family & that includes shopping at Target. I’m the only one supporting my family, work 40+hr/wk & run errands on the wknd. Id prefer if the stores were open!

  20. candace

    Tractor Supply

  21. Diane

    HomeGoods

  22. Susan

This thread is ridiculous. Ppl are so self centered now adays. Regardless if YOU don’t consider it a holiday (religious or otherwise) others do. If a store is closed and you want to go to one then go to one that isn’t! Like Walmart b/c all they care about is greed and don’t even give their employees holiday pay anyway. After all none of those employees care right? Smh

  23. Angela

Party City too. Not sure if it’s everywhere. But pretty common chain party supply store here in CA.

  24. :(

You people are so sad complaining a store is closed for one day. Stores use to be closed every Sunday and we all survived…smh Thanks for the list Collin. Your information is always helpful.

  25. Sandi

    Cool Beans!!!!

  26. Patty

    Good for them

  27. Proudmommaof6(7thOnTheWay)

I don’t think they should be closed because not everyone celebrates. They should have all non-celebrating employees working and let the celebrating ones have the day off with all holidays to accommodate everyone.

  28. Sally

O M G. People quit complaing. Be glad you have a job, be happy you have a day off . Be happy your alive already. Just be happy, life is to short to complain over nothing!!!!
