Where to Buy Cheap Flip Flops that Cost Less than Your Starbucks Order
It’s sandal season!
Grab a fresh pair of flip flops to go with your new summer pedicure! Here are the most affordable flip flops you can score at five of our favorite stores. And – even better – many of these flippies cost less than a dollar! 😲
Dollar Tree – $1
On top of all the wonderfully frugal things you can find at the Dollar Tree for just a buck, don’t miss browsing their large selection of flip flops. They have tons of cute designs, and at just $1, you won’t have any problem grabbing a few different options. Plus, they have solid colors and patterned picks for men as well.
Please note, rumor has it that the quality of Dollar Tree flip flops isn’t the best and you get what you pay for. HOWEVER, we have heard that the Walmart 98¢ flip flops (as mentioned below) are better quality and 2¢ less! Awesome!
Keep in mind that Dollar Tree also has cute pairs for the kiddos, along with toddler sizes with an additional back strap.
Target – $5.99
Even though Target is known for its low prices, these are actually the most expensive flip flops of the bunch. And by expensive, we mean just $6.
The Shade & Shore line has various color options of glitter strap sandals that add a touch of glam to your feet. Plus, they come in regular shoe sizes, as opposed to just S, M, and L which most discount flip flops come in.
It also may be worth paying more for these based on all of the 5-star reviews!
Looove them!!! They are Adorable, fit perfect, are sooo comfortable and you can’t beat the price, need I say more!! – ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Karen
Walmart – 98¢
We were tipped off to these flip flops by Hip2Save reader Diana as she loves the 98¢ Time and Tru sandals from Walmart! And it’s not hard to see why—they even come in tons of colors and patterns for a few dollars more, and there are huge bins of them in store!
They also have thicker strapped flip flops for men, and while they cost a little more, they still ring in under $3.50. Score!
Old Navy – $3.99 or less
Old Navy is known for their super affordable flip flops and the vast arrangement of neutrals and bright colors you can choose from. They’re regularly priced at $3.99, but it’s not uncommon to find them on sale or score them when they’re just a buck.
If you want a sandal with a bit more personality, don’t pass up their printed section! These are typically $1 more, but we think the fun designs are worth it.
Even sweeter, you can find flip flops for the whole family at Old Navy. They’ve got affordable sandals for men, girls, boys, and even reinforced strapped flip flops for toddlers and babies!
Five Below – $3
Show off your bright side with a pair of flip flops from Five Below! Their in-store and online selection of sandals are way too cute to all be priced under $5. These patterned options go for just $3 a pair, or you can double up and get 2 for $5.
For a sandal with a bit more style, look into Five Below’s braided pairs. There are a few different color options, so you can step your flip flop game up for just $5!
Rural King has them for less than $1.
Sweet find, Amy! Thanks for sharing!
My old navy had 2 big tubs full of them yesterday for .49 cents!
Oh wow! Great deal for sure! Thanks for the heads up! I’ll have to check my store this week!
These cheap ones are not good for your feet. They are good for taking to the beach.
I like them for the beach and for yard work! Thanks for the feedback!
My whole family can’t stand the cheap, plastic kind. They rub the skin between our toes raw. 😔 Any leads on where to get the ones with a cloth/fabric thong (😂) on the cheap?
Hi there! My husband has the same complaint for these. He does like the Men’s Dockers flip flops and we have found them for cheap at Big Lots! They also have some cute women’s sandals and spring shoes too! Also, Target has had a cloth version as well. Hope that helps!
Costco sells the leather flip flops with the cloth toe strap for $10 – $20. The $20 ones were Cole Hahn! Son wore them all last summer and sister wearing them this summer bc they still look brand new
NICE! Thanks for sharing! Good to know how well those have held up!
Being an adult is overrated. As long as they don’t break anything and leave things as they found them, they aren’t doing anything wrong.
Just a heads up… last year I bought flip flops at Dollar Tree and loved them. This year I bought a really cute pair there and they were awful. They hurt so bad I threw them away the next day. The plastic part where it attaches to the base at the middle of your foot pokes up into your foot. I had broken skin. Definitely do not buy.
I agree I bought a pair to test out good grief. My feet were hurting so bad. Frugal is one thing but these cheap things could shingle a roof.
Oh bummer! Sorry to hear that, Christy! Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I haven’t grabbed them from Dollar Tree yet!
These are horrible for the environment. Please use them for more than one season. If a bunch of people make small changes it’ll be a better outcome than if a few people made a big change.
This doesnt seem like much until you do learn they’re one of the largest volume of items found in the ocean and will take forever to break down. Theres so many of them I watched a video a bit ago about an artist in the Caribbean who goes to the beach EVERY day and gets bags of flip flops to recycle. They wash them up then glue them together and carve them into sculptures.
Please! She probably doesn’t even weigh a buck and a quarter.!!!There’s no way she would break anything. She just knows how to have a great time I wish more people could be happy like that!!!
Please take this with respect…. If you are offended by this I would not follow the site. They are having a great time and helping us save some money. Lighten up. I am quite sure that they would do no damage or harm to any store. If they offer a deal on fiber bars you should buy a case.
Oh scamp you had me laughing so much at your fiber bar comment 🙂 thank you so much for the much needed laugh.
Hahahahaha!!! Right!!
I definitely second that dollar tree flip flops suck. Not even worth a dollar. And I agree Hannah ☝️ Spend a few bucks more on a pair that can last longer without going in the trash. (And will feel more comfortable too). I can’t even imagine how many flip flops get thrown out every season. 🤯. And I don’t imagine they decompose fast at all.
Dollar Tree has def fallen off quality wise. If you need cheap flip flops I recommend DSW clearance- I have found many brand name pairs for less than $10. Or use that $10 Eddie Bauer certificate towards a clearance flip flop. If you combine the 60% off they sometimes offer with the $10 reward, you get a pair for less than $25 and they are amazing quality with a strong sole. I have flat feet so I can’t use the Old Navy ones for more than a few hours. For work I need stronger ones.
Ha! I wasnt aware dollar tree was ever “quality” 🤣
Anything cheaper then Starbucks here I come lol….thanks we go to the beach alot and this will help .
YES! We love these for the beach! Thanks for taking a moment to comment!
Are you really serious right now? 🙄
We like the Old Navy ones. My son uses his in the shower at the dorms.
I’ve liked the Old Navy flip flops too! My daughter and I grab a pair or two each year!
Wow…
I get flip flops at jc Penney for around $5.00 sometimes cheaper if they are on sale or with a coupon and the quality is great!
Yes I love their flip flops too! Usually nice colors and patterns too
What? I dont even understand this post
?? What’s not to understand? It’s about cheap flip flops.
They are saying cheap flip flops are available, even cheaper than Starbucks coffee. 😂
Thanks,
Those are really cool to keep on hand for pool guests. However, if I’m wearing them I want a slipper I trust ….and for me nothing beats Haviana Slims.
You’re welcome! Thanks for the review! Good to know what flip flops you have liked best!
I luv the Old Navy ones. I get them when they’re $1-2. I have a couple of pairs that have lasted for several years n I wear them often…still wearing them after all these years.
I have some older pairs too, Kay! Glad you have been enjoying yours!
I found 2 pr of FitFlops at Savers today for $3.99. My new pair at $59 arrived lat week. If I had seen these first I could have saved a bunch, but it is worth it for the good support. Now I have 2 new to me pair.
Does anyone know what type of flip flops to get my daughter with high arches? We recently bought 2 pairs from target but she said the straps hurt her feet. Slide ons don’t work for her either. Thanks for any help.
Okabashi
Thank you so much! I’ll research this first thing in the morning!
I also recommend Okabashi. I have high arches and while they are a bit heavier, they offer great support and are extremely durable. I’ve had the same pair for 3+ years and they still look brand new. Amazon has them for under $20 usually.
Have her try Ipanema Wave or Haviana Slims
Definitely try Okabashi! I love them!
I generally hate these “shower shoes” plastic flip flops, they always hurt my feet, but Aeropostale has them for 6 dollars, sometimes cheaper and I love them, no pain between my toes, nice and cushioned, and they last forever, I have two pair I’ve had 9 years and they look as good as the pairs I got last summer and I wear them frequently.
Oh wow! Good to know how well they have held up! Thanks for letting us know which flip flops and been your favorite!
IF A JCPENNEYS NEAR U;
