Hip Tip: Grab a Cinemood to enhance your kid’s favorite shows!
Enjoy your favorite shows and movies from Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, AmebaTV, & MOOLT, or enjoy your own content through screen mirroring.
CINEMOOD not only gives you and your kids the ability to watch their favorite shows anywhere, but it also gives the eyes and brain a break by eliminating blue light and providing a safer viewing experience than tablets and TVs.
Also included in your CINEMOOD – Frozen, Toy Story, Lion King, Beloved Whisker Haven Tales, The Lion King Wild, the Science of Imagineering (plus many more)! Their parent-curated library also has no commercials and includes hours of pre-loaded, kid-friendly reading and educational content.
Craving a snack during intermission?
Lately, the kids and I have been obsessed with Harry & David’s Moose Munch popcorn, and right now you can scoop up this 10-pack of popcorn for $7.50 per bag and you even get to choose your own flavors! Yum!
Even better, you can score FREE shipping when you use promo code HIP2SAVE at checkout!
I have a 9, 9 and 7 year old and we love Imbestigators on Netflix and Just add Magic on Prime. Both are age appropriate and wholesome. Superbook Prime is awsome for a Christian show. Is Full House free on Prime? Any seasons? We were trying to find that one. Thanks
My kids some magic for humans! They have seen all the episodes. Very entertaining for adults too.
Glad to hear they have enjoyed that one! We haven’t watched it yet!
The Shaun of the sheep show on Netflix is funny and family friendly. Theres also Trolls Holiday and a Trolls cartoon on Netflix (just not Trolls #1 weirdly). It’s $5/month but we added the PBS kids through Prime and u get all their shows. Kids love Wild Kratts.
My kiddos love Shaun the Sheep! It’s one that all ages can enjoy.
$7.50 PER bag for that popcorn! Yikes!
I know… talking about help families save money
It’s really special popcorn though if you’ve never had it, so I feel like it would be a nice treat and still cheaper than going to the movies. if you’re on a tighter budget you could get away with some regular popcorn and some candy for much cheaper though. But anyone I’ve ever gifted it to, has really appreciated moose munch.
Thanks for the suggestions – if anyone has suggestions for tweens and teens, I’m all ears!
My girls (11 & 13) love Primes Just add magic. I also have a 15 boy and all three kids just finished watching Netflix Series of unfortunate events and they all loved it.
Troll hunters on Netflix is pretty good for tweens.
Locke and Key was a hit in our house. A few suspenseful/borderline scary parts but not really and everyone loved it
I was going to recommend Locke and Key too.
This is a fun old one…adventurous, some fighting, creative plots…https://smile.amazon.com/The-Coming-of-Robin-Hood/dp/B01GPL72CQ/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=the+adventures+of+robin+hood&qid=1587658985&sr=8-3
Thanks for the suggestion!
The Amazon shows listed here aren’t free. In most cases it’s cheaper to buy the DVD.
I don’t think Friends is an appropriate show for the younger ones, maybe high school and older
I’m a HUGE “Friends” fan, know every episode by heart, and I definitely do not think it is “family friendly.” Although I appreciate Hip2Save so much for all that they do, and usually trust their opinions and the lists they send, having this on a list to watch with kids makes me wonder if I need to screen all of their other recommendations as well.
I agree. Even though Friends is a comedy, there are lots of innuendos, adult jokes, and adult situations. So maybe it’s ok for mature teens but definitely not for kids.
Thank you for this list! Our kids range in age from 20 down to 8 and what’s ok for the oldest isn’t necessarily ok for the youngest. This is helpful.
You’re welcome, TJ! Glad these suggestions were helpful!
My kids ( 8 and 10yo) love The Big Show Show on Netflix. I even caught my husband chuckling a few times. We also like Boy Meets World on Disney+
I had no idea that the Great British Baking Show was on Netflix. I have been recording it on PBS this whole time! And I used the opportunity to binge on Downton Abbey.
Cinemood seems awesome but almost $400?! Yikes…
I got exited about the cinemood until I saw the price! 😯 cool concept not sure I would splurge on that!
I just can’t justify paying $20 to rent a movie at home.
I would not recommend Magic for Humans for families with young children. I showed my children (ages 6 and 8) the trailer and they were excited to watch it. Thankfully, the cuss words were bleeped out. My husband and I decided to preview episode 1 of season 1 this evening, before our boys watched it. We were only into the introduction when we decided it would be inappropriate for our boys.
