Is There a Difference Between Black Friday vs Cyber Monday This Year?
Find out the biggest differences between Black Friday vs Cyber Monday!
Be prepared for holiday shopping this year. 🎁
First comes Black Friday, then comes Cyber Monday‘s virtual debut, but how different are they? No matter how you’re shopping for gifts this year, we’re sharing the most notable differences between Black Friday vs Cyber Monday so you’ll know how to spend your money more wisely.
Black Friday is on November 25th, 2022 and Cyber Monday is on November 28th, 2022.
1. Black Friday still promotes in-store doorbusters, whereas Cyber Monday is exclusively for online deals.
This has always been the main difference between the two shopping events. Limited stock and extremely low prices are what still drive people to bust down doors come Black Friday. Get it… doorbusters? 😏
However, over the last couple of years, we’re starting to see more Black Friday retailers shift their focus. In fact, many retailers run extended online deals and in-store sale days to reduce crowds and gain more foot traffic.
2. Sales end quicker on Cyber Monday.
Traditionally, Black Friday launched with retailers announcing sales as early as the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. However, the days of waiting in line to score a deep discount on just about anything are dissipating. In fact, ever since the pandemic, Black Friday deals ended up being a month-long fiasco online and in-store.
As for Cyber Monday, the majority of the deals are one day only and once they’re gone – they’re gone! However, you could argue the fact that ultimately, there was a surplus of online deals last year and far beyond just one day. So we’re expecting this year’s Cyber Monday to offer the most deals yet.
3. Black Friday retailers may have deals you just can’t get online for Cyber Monday.
The convenience of shopping online for Cyber Monday is too irresistible for many with gas prices climbing and easier access to scoring deals from your couch.
However, major retailers are still able to draw consumers with doorbusters and the chance to score hot items that may be out of stock online. This gives Black Friday a one-up on Cyber Monday for those looking to score highly sought-after items. Plus, there’s nothing like leaving with a physical product in hand.

4. Shop Black Friday for the best deals on TVs, gaming consoles, & small appliances.
Knowing what you should buy and what you shouldn’t buy on Black Friday is super important because not every item in-store is a great deal. In fact, aside from the Black Friday ad scans that will leak weeks beforehand, most inventory will remain full-price if it’s not a part of the big sale.
Black Friday is the best time to score big-ticket items like electronics, gaming systems, some kid’s toys, and small kitchen appliances.
Psst…Target already announced their 2022 hottest toys list for the holidays!
You may also find that select clothing will be marked down to super low prices like $4 Christmas pajamas for the whole family.

5. Cyber Monday may be offering better deals on highly-sought after toys.
Last year, we found Cyber Monday to be a great day to score highly sought-after toys like Nerf Guns, Disney, LEGOs, and many others that weren’t included in many retailers’ Black Friday sales.
So, it may be worthwhile to wait until Monday to see if it goes on sale for a better price as tempting as in-store shopping may be.
All in all, with more people wanting convenient online deals, we’re starting to feel like the competition of Black Friday vs Cyber Monday is actually meshing together into one big holiday. This year, expect to see enticing deals the entire month of November and December leading up until Christmas!
