Have you been asking, “Are there cheap haircuts near me?” Yes, there are, and here’s where to find them!

Trim your hair, not your savings.

How much are you spending on haircuts each year? If you’ve been analyzing your budget and wondering where you can save money, look at your grooming expenses. According to a recent update from Yelp, companies are charging men an average of $45 and charging women an average of $65 for a haircut. If you visit the salon every 6-8 weeks, you’re potentially spending hundreds of dollars a year. 😱

Instead, save by using coupons from Groupon or Living Social. Also, if you’re only getting a basic cut or trim, skip the fancy spa and consider using a budget salon instead. Not only can you save money, but a lot of these places take walk-ins. If you google, “cheap haircuts near me,” some of these less-expensive salons might pop up on your search. To save you some time, here are some places to visit when you’re looking for an affordable haircut.

Asking, “What’s the cheapest haircut near me?” Here are 8 salons to try:

1. Hip2Save’s Lina saves money at Fantastic Sam’s.

woman getting a haircut

HIp2Save’s Lina always has super cute hairstyles. And guess what? She almost always has her hair done at one of the several affordable salons on this list, including Fantastic Sam’s.

Each Fantastic Sam’s location is independently owned so prices may vary by location. A good way to find the price at your local salon is to download the Fantastic Sam’s app. You can compare prices at different locations and find which offer rewards programs. You can also reserve a time if you know when you’d like to go.

Hair cuts at Fantastic Sam’s always include a FREE shampoo. At my local salon in a populated area, both a Mens Cut and a Ladies Cut are $24. You can add a blowdry for an extra $7. Also, select locations may offer a military discount. For example, active military members can score a cut for just $19 at the salon in Becker, MN.

“I try to go to fancy salons and end up back at Fantastic Sam’s with a coupon!” – Lina, Hip2Save team

2. Great Clips can be found all over the country and they have a senior discount.

Great Clips

Great clips is a popular affordable salon with some 4,100 locations around the country. Each location is independently owned so prices and services may vary by location, but the salon by me offers Men’s and Women’s Cuts for just $20.

Many locations, like mine, offer senior priced haircuts for $2 less and some might even add a senior discount on top of that price. My location also has $18 haircuts for children 10 and under. Visit the Great Clips website to see prices near you.

One great feature about Great Clips is that walk-ins are welcome and you can see your local wait time on both the Great Clips website and their app. Before heading to your salon, sign up for promotional emails to snag a one-time Great Clips coupon for $2 off!

“I get my hair cut about every 6 weeks.[Great Clips] really does save me a lot. I also love their app and can check in online and get right in!” – Laurie, Hip2Save reader

3. First time visitors to Sports Clips can upgrade to the MVP service for FREE.

Guy at Sports Clips

Sports Clips has really been making buzz the past few years. They specialize in haircuts for men and boys but they will also style women too. Their standard haircut costs $19 near me, but what they’re known for is their MVP experience. The MVP service consists of a precision haircut, a signature hot steamed towel service, a 7-point massaging shampoo, and a neck and shoulder treatment (not available in Washington or Oregon). The MVP service costs around $24, but first time visitors can get this upgrade FREE of charge!

One thing to love about Sports Clips is that they regularly give back to the community and on Veteran’s Day, many locations offer FREE haircuts to military members and vets. Some locations also offer military and first responder discounts all year round – just ask your local salon. Plus, they offer reduced prices for seniors and children.

Sports Clips has over 1,900 locations. To find one near you, visit their website or download their app. If you use their app, you can check in online, find out your wait time, and see your spot in line. Also, if you sign up for emails, you might just get some special offers!

“I go to Sports Clips, and pay about $25 for the “MVP” experience; which includes the haircut, washing, and a head massage – the BEST. And then they have a “Season Pass Bundle” I always get that allows for even more savings.”
Shane, Hip2Save team

4. Hair Cuttery loves offering promotions and they are running several deals right now.

The inside of a Hair Cuttery Salon where you can get the cheapest haircut near me

Many of the Hair Cuttery salons near me receive between 4 to 5 stars. One of my friends gets her hair done here and she always gets compliments. By me, the standard shampoo and haircut costs $26 and with blowdry it costs $37. Kids haircuts start at $17 and buzz cuts at $16. To find a location and pricing near you, download the Hair Cuttery App or use their Find A Salon webpage.

Never visit the salon without checking their promotions page or app to see current offers. Right now you’ll find coupons like 10% off when you sign up for emails, $5 off when you sign up for SMS messages, and 10% off your first color treatment. They also have 10% off for seniors and 10% off for military, veterans, and frontline workers!

Hip Tip: Hip2Save reader, Anna, has been a stylist for over 20 years. She recommends you use the same stylist each time you visit a budget salon. That way you can provide your stylist feedback and your haircuts can improve with each cut.

5. Supercuts includes a Hot Towel Refresher for FREE.

Another walk-in salon option is Supercuts. They have over 2,200 locations and were recently named one of the top 3 places to score a cheap haircut by You Probably Need A Haircut.

The salon near me charges $18.99 for a standard Supercut (blow dry not included). With every haircut, they offer you a Hot Towel Refresher service. To get exclusive deals, sign up for their promotional emails.

To find a salon near you, visit the Supercuts website or download their app which has online check-in and reservations. I will say the Supercuts in my area have very mixed reviews. If you plan to hit up these salons, make sure to choose a location or stylist with a higher rating.

“I usually get my hair trimmed somewhere cheap once a year and then go to a nicer salon/stylist to get a few highlights and another trim 1-2 times a year. Last time I went I had a coupon for a free Supercuts haircut, so I only paid for the tip.” – Kim, Hip2Save reader

6. Beauty Schools like the Paul Mitchell Beauty & Cosmetology School or the Aveda Institute offer cheap haircuts to the public.

Many beauty schools offer guest services to the public. Services and pricing can vary, but you’re guaranteed to get a pretty great price. Some even do the cut for free with a suggested donation of $5 to $15 dollars.

Some notable schools with locations across the country include the Paul Mitchell Beauty & Cosmetology School and the Aveda Institute. All services are performed under instructor supervision so you’ll most likely score a great haircut and help out a student in the process.

“I also use the beauty school nearby. Paul Mitchell. They are very good. One of the instructors is a great gentleman who cuts and styles my hair almost entirely, just to teach the future stylist. After Aretha Franklin passed, I saw my good friend on the local news: he was her personal stylist! My mouth just dropped! I love him!” – Mirela, Hip2Save reader

“We have an Aveda Institute in town where I get a wash, cut, and blow out for $15. The services are provided by students, but are supervised by instructors. While the service might take a bit longer, I’ve always been very pleased with the results. In order for a student to complete the program, s/he must fulfill a required amount of service hours. The facility is happy to receive the clientele from the community. It’s a win-win situation for both!” – RMC, Hip2Save reader

7. Score a cheap haircut from a mobile hairstylist.

To avoid salon overhead, many talented hairstylists work out of their own homes or will come to you. Without all the salon expenses, many of these stylists can offer you a budget haircut. Do a quick Google search or inquire with your local Nextdoor App or neighborhood Facebook community to see if anyone in your area offers affordable services.

If you have a friend who is a hairstylist, they might offer cheap services too. Hip2Save’s Sara has a hairstylist friend who cuts her daughters hair for just $10!

8. Visit your local barbershop for an expert cut at a great price.

boy getting his hair cut

Barbershops are considerably cheaper than salons, but the haircuts are high-quality. Barbers are experts at what they do. Though they specialize in men and children’s cuts, many barbers can do a simple woman’s cut also. My local barbershop charges $23 for a men’s cut, $17 for a child’s cut, $15 for a buzz cut, and $40 for a women’s cut which includes styling.

“I pay $60 including tip for my two boys together. We have the cutest little old fashioned barber shop here and they just love it!” – Jenna, Hip2Save team

Or, consider cutting your own hair like Hip2Save team members, Chelsey and Soleil.

woman cutting her own curtain bangs

When I polled the Hip2Save team, most of us were paying somewhere between $45 and $95 for a shampoo, haircut, and blowout. Those getting coloring services were spending even more. Several of us have started only going to the salon a few times a year to cut down on the cost!

When Chelsey and Soleil piped up to say they cut their own hair, we were all amazed. Both of their hairstyles look absolutely fantastic and they are saving a boatload of money. 🙌 Some of the team was inspired to try trimming their own hair, myself included!

woman demonstrating how to cut your own hair

Chelsey says her best tips for cutting hair are the unicorn method and cutting ‘curtain bangs’ on the diagonal. She shared this handy tutorial video and you can find many more tutorials online!

Just checkout how cute Chelsey’s DIY haircut looks… 😍

“For the unicorn method it’s as easy as bunching all of your hair into a ponytail at the front/ center of your forehead– this ponytail should be super tight and smooth (no bumps at all)! Then you just cut a straight line (like Soleil, I just use scissors that have a good rating and grab a new pair once dull. I have this pair).

Once you’re happy with the length/ line you can even add ‘texture’ like at the salon by making small cuts vertically. Then, while it’s still wet, I remove the ponytail and make any adjustments with my hair down as needed. This unicorn method is what gives it the different layers, I don’t do anything extra.

For the bangs, you basically make an X across your face when you cut each side.

Like I said, my motto has always been: hair is hair 🤷🏻‍♀️so I think you have to trust the process a bit (& know that it grows back! 😆 But I’ve probably cut my hair with this method 5+ times and am happy with the (FREE) results!”
– Chelsey, Hip2Save team

Soleil’s hairstyle is always a hit! She follows the Curly Girl Method…

slopehill hair dryer - Dyson supersonic alternative

“I don’t trust anyone with my curly hair so I cut it myself. Bought a $20 scissors kit on Amazon and haven’t looked back. I cut it a few weeks ago (a whole 12 inches off, believe it or not!) and I love it so much. I used to get a DevaCut a good decade ago and would spend $150+ on a hair cut. Killed me. They would go too short or make it too round. Found a few tutorials on YouTube, I follow the Curly Girl Method normally, and I just cut along the “c” of the curl and add layers. I love it! “ – Soleil, Hip2Save team

Have children? Here are some tips for getting a cheap kids haircuts:

  • Visit one of the budget salons listed above. Most of them offer kids haircuts for between $14 – $19.
  • Visit a beauty school for a discounted cut or even a FREE haircut.
  • Look for coupons online or in your mail. Groupon and Living Social often have coupons for haircuts.
  • Check for pay-your-age discounts. HIp2Save’s Jenna has a salon near her that gives a 5-year-old a $5 haircut.
  • Swap services with a family member or friend who cuts hair. For example, trade babysitting or piano lessons for a haircut.
  • Do it yourself with a razor or hair cutting scissors. Youtube has TONS of tutorials!

I have 3 boys and a Goldendoodle, the barber and grooming bills were getting outrageous. I watched a few YouTube videos and started doing everyone’s myself, it’s really not that that hard. I do need to upgrade my clippers though, def worth investing in a good set. Not only does it save money but if anyone’s had to sit in a barber shop waiting for 3 haircuts on a Saturday morning you know that’s enough motivation right there! 😉

    • Amy

      Yes!!!

  2. Marni

My husband cut my son’s hair until he was 13, and I am still cutting my daughter’s hair at age 11. Can’t believe how much time and money that saved … and they both have looked great the entire time. Thanks for this informative post, H2S!!

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

You’re very welcome, Marni! I know! I have always cut my son’s hair and it has saved a ton for sure! Thanks for taking the time to comment!

  3. Kaylee

I do all 3 of my boys (husband included) and my 4 girls at home. YouTube has helped me feel more confident and saved us a ton. If I have questions my stylist friends are happy to help, too. You may even consider having someone you know teach you how and video them doing it once!

  4. Kim

I actually have no problem cutting my sons hair and also cutting my daughters hair most times. They end up looking fine and my kids are not picky anyways lol. If someone has a problem with it they can take it up with me 🤣 I love to save money.

  5. Christina

For my own boys I think an 8 on top is too short, just my preference, so I was taking them into the salon or trying and failing with scissors and then I found out they sell 10 and 12 combs on amazon! Game changer. You can get the longer look on top super easy and then taper up the sides and back. Hope this help someone 🙂

    • Amy

Thanks for posting this! I never thought to check for bigger guards! Just ordered some off Amazon.

  6. Lisa

I’ve been getting my hair cut at a beauty school for years and have had mostly good experiences. A couple times I’ve had to return and have it fixed, even after the teacher signed it off but they were good about it both times. I’ve found that asking for a student that has been there for several months increases my chances of a good cut. Here’s what I really need to know…when and how much is appropriate to tip stylists…not just at a beauty school but anywhere.

    • Courtney

I also don’t know how much to tip? 20% + like wait staff?

      • Sue

        I always tip 20%.

    • Renee

I’m curious what others do too. Probably depends on the area. For my hair I tip $5 for a cut and $10 for color and cut. I would probably tip more if she didn’t double book me because then I end up being there much longer and end up having to pay my sitter more money. Should I say something to her?

      • Emily

You can request not to be double booked

  7. M

    👍👍👍👍👍👍

  8. Lindsay

I have tried to cut my 3 little boys hair so many times and they always look awful. haha! My husband now asks me to take my kids in to get their hair cut! I get coupons from Dollar Cuts for $2 mid week so that makes each hair cut $8. Or my friend will do them for $6 each which is worth it to me!

  9. CL

I always buzz my boys for the summer, I think they look fresh and clean! I have been practicing crew cuts with YouTube lately, a stylist recommended Wahl clippers once so I found a pair on amazon and they have been working great! Decent price, easy to use, and cordless. Interested in the #10 guide as im still timid with scissors…

    • Sydney

The #10 and #12 are really amazing. And they are usually only around $5 a piece.

      • CL

        Awesome thanks!

  10. Mara

I have always done my boys haircut and they are 6 and 12. I do a fade and it looks fine. Why pay someone money every 6 weeks when you can easily learn how to cut hair yourself? I also have always cut my daughters hair and she’s 15.

  11. Jen

It says swap services so I think the thought was find a friend to cut hair for you and you do something for them that’s not monetary.

  12. Cristine

I feel the same, we don’t have those free or nearly free options in my area and haircuts even for kids is $15 to $20 a pop minimum.

  13. jan

My husband’s dad taught me to cut my husband’s hair when we were first married. He actually prefers me to cut his hair and my son’s because I know exactly how he wants it. I trim my girls’ long hair. I’m the only one who pays for haircuts around here (I go to Great Clips). My husband also learned to foil my hair! He does a great job!

  14. Rebecca

My husband cuts both our boys’ hair & does a much better job than any place I’ve taken them in town.

  15. Tm

My oldest really needs a cut every three weeks. I’ve gone so, so many places and begged for a shorter cut and they WILL NOT do it! One lady told me she was afraid he’d get a sunburn on his head and left it at least 1.5”. What??? His cut there looked terrible the next week and my other son’s was incredibly bad. My husband’s friend gives him the best cuts (not even schooled/licensed), but I can’t ask that favor every three weeks and I really don’t want to pay $30 plus tip for the next step up of salon/service level. Anyone found helpful YouTube’s or guides so I can try to learn?

    • Carolyn

My husband gives my boys their haircuts and a friend who just buzzes her three sons’ hair with a number 3 attachment all over asked if he would show her how he does the boys’ haircuts. She came over with her boys, watched hubby give my boys haircuts then she had her sons take a seat and get caped while he coached her as she gave her boys each their haircuts. I think she did a pretty good job of giving her sons each a haircut. She felt comfortable and felt she could repeat doing them herself at home. He told her if she wanted to come back again and have him coach her doing haircuts or has any questions to give a call. She thanked him and said she wished she could do her own hair as she needed a haircut herself. He told her if she wanted to, she could take a seat herself and he could cut her hair. She said that would be great and took a seat and he gave her a haircut. So my recommendation would be if your husband’s friend would be willing, ask him to show you how he does the haircuts and have him coach you while you do the hands on cutting. You learn by doing, not just watching and you need to practice to sharpen your skills and feel comfortable doing them. My husband has given hundreds of haircuts to family, friends and acquaintances, so he has gotten a lot of practice and experience to be able to give such good haircuts.

    • Kimberly

So aggravated. I get that hip recycles content, but I just spent ten minutes replying to someone’s comment, looking up a link for her, giving her advice, etc. – and then realized the comment was from 2019, and my reply is thus redundant. I appreciate all that the team does, but I wish these posts came with some kind of heads up.

      • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

SO sorry for that confusion, Kimberly. ❤️ We try to leave some of the older comments as many can be helpful for others to read through when giving and getting advice from others. I just went through and removed some. Thanks so much for commenting. 🤗💕

        • Carolyn

I saw the same thing, it was listed as a new posting, so I clicked it to see if there was anything new. No, it was from 2019. What I do see is that whether it was 25 years ago or yesterday, the content is still relevant. My boys are now in their teens, my older son is now attending a local community college, living at home, has a part time job, and a girlfriend and he and his younger brother are still having my husband give them haircuts every three weeks or so. They like his work, and the thought of actually having to pay for a haircut with their own money, and getting results that are either equal to what they are getting for free or worse, and they are still paying for it, makes them appreciate that he does it for them. And the thought of having to make an appointment, drive to a salon, still wait, get told I am too old to keep my hair long, get a hard sell on their overpriced products, and get a haircut I don’t like, have to pay a lot of money for it, makes me cringe. During the virus scare in 2020, we still got our haircuts on schedule. I had some friends and coworkers ask me if they could have my husband cut their hair. I said ok, but if they show up wearing a face diaper, my husband would tell them don’t even bother coming in the door, just get in your car and go home. He was an NBC warfare defense officer as well as trained to the HAZMAT technician level, full level A encapsulated suit with SCBA tank, he knew wearing a piece of cloth or paper over your face was not providing protection, just breeding bacteria and viruses. I had a few friends get upset, and had nasty words because they were afraid of the bogeyman narrative, they didn’t come to the house. A few did show, and appreciated that we were not playing the fear game. He gave haircuts to friends/coworkers with long hair, short hair and a few haircuts to their children. He refused to take so much as a penny from them. My mom and best friend only trust him to cut their hair, plus a new friend of my best friend continues to have him cut her short hair as she refuses to wear a face diaper to get her hair cut. She was paying around $50 including tip every 8-10 weeks, and her stylist was pressuring her to make it a monthly appointment. Her husband thinks my husband gives her a better haircut than her old stylist. We have gone to their house for dinners and cookouts, and they have been our guests for pizza nights and grilling out in the picnic area at our house. Hubby tells them that they are friends, he will not take a penny, despite his insistence. However, her husband feels that as we are friends, he can send gift cards for local restaurants on my husband’s birthday and at Christmas. He caved, he said that telling him no on those two occasions, they are gifts, not payment. So a couple $100 gift cards for 8 haircuts a year is not extravagant, but still a bargain for her. My mom and my best friend never offer anything, but my best friend will bring wine, and when she brought her cousin that hadn’t had a haircut in over three years, asked me if I would be ok with her coming by to get regular trims, I told her that it would be fine as long as she brought wine.

  16. Tracy

Agree! I use to feel that way, but, now being a single mother, I don’t always have the money to pair for a haircut. I have had to start cutting my own hair on top of my son’s. I have learned to do an ok job too.

  17. MollyMi

My husband cuts my son’s hair and his own. He started because my son was absolutely terrified of getting his hair cut and he would scream and throw the biggest tantrums. At first the haircuts didn’t look the greatest and I kept hoping my son would get over his fear so we could take him to a salon. However, my husband got better and once I realized how much money we were saving I got on the home diy haircuts train pretty fast. At this point, I’m the one costing us the most with the haircuts I get once every two years, though once my daughter starts to get more substantial hair that might change since neither my husband or I feel courageous enough to cut girl hairstyles. 😂

  18. Amy

I learned how to cut my 3 kids and husband’s hair at home! There was a learning curve to do fades but it wasn’t too bad! Saves us SO much money and heck- hair grows back so if you mess up you can always cut it shorter to fix it and it’ll grow back!

    • Amy

Oh and my mom still cuts my hair to this day and I’m 35! I went to a salon ONCE in my life when I was a teenager and they messed up my hair (did some kind of cut/layering I did NOT want!) so I’ve never gone back! Why pay someone when my mom can cut my hair for free when she’s over for dinner?! 😍

  19. Shannon

I cut everyone in my family’s hair. Never a buzz cut. My teen is super picky about hair cuts (and everything lol) and he’s happy with the cut I give him. Definitely watch you tube. So many great learning videos!

  20. KW

I cut my family’s hair at home too. My son and I have sensitive skin so much so that the trimmed hair irritates our skin really bad, it turns red and super itchy immediately. We have to cover his face so the hair doesn’t land on it. I have to cut his hair quickly and he jumps in the shower immediately. He wouldn’t be able to go to a barbershop! When I went to the salon as a child they powdered my neck and I was so itchy and uncomfortable all the way home. (And I’m the mom so this was without clippers being used I had long hair) My parents would try to cut mine at home too. I cut my own hair now too. I’m amazed people would even assume someone cut hair themselves or paid for it to be cut. How would you know if someone had a great home cut or a bad stylist cut? Or vice versa. Or maybe that lopsided look was intentional. Hair is a great way to express yourself.

  21. Nancygaye

Paul Mitchell hair schools have a program where you pay $25 and get haircuts for one full year. I just bought one but haven’t used yet. Would be perfect for kids.

  22. Hipgrandma

I learned to cut my husband’s hair during the pandemic. He gets a better cut from me than the salon he used to go to. I definitely take more time and do a more thorough job. No one knows the difference

  23. CSexton311

I get my haircut at a local cosmetology school. They do everything from haircuts, hair color, waxing, body treatments, facials, so many things. And so much cheaper as it’s students that are doing the work under the care of a teacher. $15 for a basic haircut. Highly recommend checking your city for schools. Our school is called Capitol beauty school.

    • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

How cool! Thanks so much for sharing and for the recommendation to check out the local cosmetology schools. Good to know what pricing you’ve seen from them. ❤️🤗

I just took my son to Great Clips on Monday. I am debating about going back to ask them to fix it or do I just try and redo it myself??? It is horrible. I didn’t notice how bad it was until after he washed it. I feel bad asking them to fix it, but I don’t know if I can. Kind advice please.

    • Crystal

Yes, go back! They have had to fix my kids a couple times over the years and are always happy to do so.

    • Stella

Please allow the stylist to correct the haircut, the opportunity to make it right is an excellent way to teach your son how to handle a minor setback with tact and presents a teachable moment for all parties involved. I am certain the stylist never intended to do a poor job and would be grateful to address the problem areas. I recall a few years back being in the same situation as you and your son, I called the salon, spoke to the owner directly and she was so gracious and helpful in rectifying the situation.

    • Casey

I have gone to a walk in places and got a bad cut. Didn’t notice for a few weeks till it started growing out that the bottom was crooked. Went to someone else which I should have gone to in the first place.

  25. Casey

Since I only get my hair cut one a year at the salon I don’t mind paying.

  26. Jane's Twin

No disrespect for the hair dressers out there but I truly just cannot keep up with the price increases! My $30 all inclusive cut is now $40 and the wash is extra ($10-$12)..add in a tip and it’s just way too much. They basically get annoyed that I don’t come in as frequently but I am down to twice a year. Guess what? A little gray blends in with home highlights too ladies. Full highlights at the same salon is now $250 (previously $185). I make sure to compliment other women’s hair because it’s important to support whatever look they are rocking, even home cuts!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us about your salon visits! ❤️ Several of us on the team have also started only going to the salon a few times a year to cut down on the cost. Personally, I visit 2-3 times per year for a highlight and haircut as well. My stylist is super understanding and tries to help blend my highlights to my natural color to help prolong the visits. Love that you lift others up and you’re rocking some of your natural hair in between visits! 🙌💕

  27. 5pink1blue

A good stylist will cut your hair so you don’t need frequent visits. A friend asked me where I go ( I go approximately twice a year) and she said she noticed she needed fewer cuts when going to a salon than an inexpensive franchise. I personally don’t have time for frequent haircuts.

  28. Maggie

You can save on high-end salons to: Costco sells Spafinder giftcards for 20% off ($80 for $100), and my local Aveda salon accepts them as payment for all services. The salon processes these particular gift cards like Visa cards, so I can also put the tip on the card if I have several of them.

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for sharing this helpful tip, Maggie! ❤️ So awesome that your local Aveda salon accepts them for all services! 🙌

  29. Nkiser

I cut my own now with tutorials and have done so since 2021. Mine is fine and I just do a face frame and long layers. It has gotten easier now with doing my own every 3 months. I take my kiddo to a kids cut place every 3 months because her hair is very thick and has taken me 2 hours to cut, no experience. They get it done 30 minutes and she’s happier. The first time I went in they actually complimented me and said I did a good job with her hair. I kinda laughed it off as I thought she was just being nice but she said no seriously, you did good! I respect the hair dresser industry but personally like your post I do my own. Will gladly take my kiddo somewhere to keep her happy and only pay $23. I would love to see a post on recommended hair products for different hair types either if it’s professional or over-the-counter like you would find a Walmart or Target. You’re so welcome, and thank you for sharing about your haircutting experience, Nkiser! 💇‍♀️💞 So awesome that you are able to cut yours at home too to save! 🙌 I’ll be sure to pass along your suggestion to the team on hair product recommendations! 🤗❤️

I’ve been cutting my own hair since lockdown. Not due to fear. It started out as annoyance over wearing a mask and was tired of my hair never looking great even though I went to an Aveda salon and had the same stylist for 13 years. My hair is difficult to cut because it’s curly AND straight in various sections of my head and very thick. I used the Creaclip for a few years and am now sectioning my hair into thirds with hair bands to get a mild shag. I use the creaclip to help cut length straight instead of using it to create a style. There’s been mild mishaps but nothing horrible.
