What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!) and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2024-2025 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for a majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies themselves.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

As a school admin office support/business staff, the name is rarely included in teacher discounts and promotions, so we don’t, or at least think we don’t, get to particiate in teacher discounts and promotions but we are as excited as teachers are, and as parents, for the beginning of a fresh new school year! Thank you so much for including administrative staffs in this awesome opportunity!!!

My daughter in law and I both work in Preschool Special Education with children ages 3-5. Special Education preschool needs are often overlooked and are so varied. Having classes where children’s cognitive age spans several years often means having several similar activities at varied skill levels. Where a typical class may need one item to be shared by all children of similar levels, a special education class may need 5 or 6 of the same type of activity based on cognitive level to assure that all children can access the activity and have a similar educational experience.

Multiplying by 7 is easy when you are watching the Bills score. Help bring the extras so our special education students can regulate their sensory systems while engaging in learning. Thanks so much for helping us SCORE! We will KICK the year off right. Go Bills! ❤️💙🏈

What an exciting opportunity for all of us teachers?!! I’m making a big jump this year, going from 17 years of high school teaching down to 6th grade Science. Not only is this going to seem like my first year back in the classroom, but my first day will also be after the kids have started and have never been to my room! I am a high school teacher and planning to instill an attitude of gratitude in my students this year. I think we can all use a little more gratitude and less complaining these days. In order to facilitate this yearlong lesson, I need to get journals for each of my 85 students. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This would be sooooo amazing! I really want to start a ‘care closet’ in my class, as I see every student at much school every week as the music teacher. Being I am at a Totle 1 school, a care closet would somewhere kids could pop in discretely to grab items to meet their basic needs.

I am going back into the classroom after my position was cut. I have been out of the classroom for over 6 years and had to start over again because I gave all my stuff away teachers who needed it. Would appreciate any help you can give me since starting over isn’t easy.
