What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!), and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2025-2026 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for the majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap, and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies out of their own pockets.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization, and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

Plus, treat yourself to something special with these teacher discounts!

HI everyone! I am a 7th grade science 🧪 teacher from Texas. This is year 13 for me but like year 1 again. I am back in the classroom after a few years out. When I left I donated EVERYTHING down to paper and pens so am trying to start over from scratch. 🫶. My classroom has a Taylor Swift theme vibe. Instead of a bingo or map I would like to mark off an item for each of the eras! Please consider contributing to an item on my wishlist to mark off your favorite era before we go back to school on August 4! 💚💛💜❤️🩵🖤🩷🩶🤎💙🤍https://www.amazon.com/wedding/share/Shotwellsscienceclass

My top 3 items would be the clipboards 📋, the yellow vest for my hallpass 🦺, and air fresheners 👃 because you know middle school in Texas heat. 😂

I am blessed to serve as an Academic Interventionist at a Title I school in Texas. In my twenty-plus years in education, have worked with students in a variety of capacities from ages 2 through college. I love my job and my students. The joy and pride on their faces makes it all worth it. My students and I would be grateful for any contributions from uplifting thoughts to donations. Thank you!

hank you for supporting my Library! We are a rural school in West Virginia with 150ish students who LOVE library and read aloud. This is my 11th year teaching and my fourth in Library. My library is screen-free and focuses on maker-space and STEM centers plus book circulation. I have been working the last two years to update our collection after a mass weed-out. Please consider helping me out by purchasing from my wish list!

I just want to share this with all of the Title 1 teachers. You can get cheap books on Firstbook Marketplace. It’s free to become a member and they give you a $25 credit on your first order. (Shipping is also free with a $25 order) They have a ton of free teacher resources too. Throughout the year they send codes for additional discounts. Again you must be in a Title 1 district to qualify. https://www.fbmarketplace.org/register/?awraf=3991BB73674DBFF31BE74
