What is “Clear the List”? It’s a nationwide movement to support teachers by purchasing items for their school supply lists.

School will be back in session soon (some districts start in just a couple of weeks!), and teachers are already working hard to prepare their classrooms for the new 2025-2026 school year. This includes stocking up on school supplies for their students!

Did you know that many teachers pay for the majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets? Yes, it’s true! Classroom supplies are not cheap, and many school districts and families are struggling. This leaves many teachers to pay for school supplies out of their own pockets.

Teachers always go the extra mile for their students, so let’s show them how much we appreciate them by giving back and helping to fulfill their supply lists!

You can help by donating items from teachers’ Amazon shopping lists!

Teachers and educational professionals can head over to Amazon, create a classroom wish list, and then share their lists publicly. Anyone can ‘donate’ items that are on the list, and after donating, donors can even leave a note or message letting the teacher know how much they are appreciated. So awesome!

Even better, if you post your list on social media and tag Amazon with #clearthelist, you may find that your list is cleared BY Amazon! So cool!

Teachers, follow these steps to make your classroom wish list on Amazon:

  • Head over to Amazon and hover over Account & List at the top. Select ‘Create a List’ from the drop-down menu and name your list.
  • Hover over the three dots More menu on the right, and click Manage List to update your shipping address (this is important!) and other preferences like whether you want the list to be private or public. You can also designate whether your list is for an organization, and if so, you’ll have the option to provide the website address of the organization.
  • Click ‘Save’ and then you can start adding items to your list!
  • To add items to your wish list, simply browse for products on Amazon and then click ‘Add to List’ under the Buy box on the right-hand side of any item’s product detail page.
  • Only list owners can make changes through Manage List. Both list owners and collaborators will be able to add and remove items.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to share your teacher list in the comments below so that readers can help clear the list! 🙌

This year, our 6th-8th grade Special Education team at our Title I school is facing a staffing shortage, meaning we’ll be serving the same number of students with fewer teachers. As an 11-year veteran teacher, I’m committed to providing the best for my students, but our resources will be stretched thin.

If you’re able to support our classroom and help us continue making a big impact, please consider our Amazon Teacher Wishlist. Your generosity would be deeply appreciated!

Hi my name is Hailey and this will be my first full year teaching as well as my first year in middle school self contained special education. I graduated in May from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with my bachelors degree in psychology and I am currently enrolled in an alternate certification program. Currently my most needed items are personal care items. As many know middle school is when hormones and bodys start to change and I would like to have supplies on hand to help my students navigate these changes. I would greatly appreciate any donations towards making my classroom a more safe and inclusive environment โค๏ธ

This year is a big one for meโ€”I’m officially transitioning from a paraprofessional to a full-time teacher! Itโ€™s my very first year in the classroom, and Iโ€™m so excited (and a little nervous) to finally step into this role Iโ€™ve worked so hard for. Iโ€™ve created an Amazon wishlist with a few items that would help me create a warm, engaging space for my students. Any supportโ€”big or smallโ€”means the world to me. Thank you for cheering me on as I start this new chapter! ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ“š

I’m entering my third year of teaching 6th Grade Literature and 6-12 Intervention, which is my second career. As a former journalist, I loved telling the stories of the people in my community. Now, my ultimate goal as a teacher is cultivating a culture of finding the truth, beauty, and goodness in our studies together. I want them to see school not as work, but as a safe place to learn, make mistakes, and grow into life-long scholars and stewards.
