What is Brickseek?
Brickseek is our go-to inventory checker for Target, Walmart, CVS, Staples, The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Macy’s, BJ’s, and Office Depot/OfficeMax. You can search by UPC, SKU, or DCPI, then add in your zip code to see the price of the item at your local stores and the number left in stock.
While these inventory systems can sometimes be inaccurate due to theft, loss, and other circumstances, Brickseek can be a really helpful tool if you’re trying to track down a certain item near you. As always, it’s best to call your local store to confirm details on inventory before heading out.

Brickseek Walmart Inventory Checker
How to check Walmart inventory using Brickseek:
- Head on over to Brickseek’s Walmart Inventory Checker, enter your zip code, the SKU # or the UPC #, and click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at Walmart stores near you, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the SKU# online, head to Walmart.com, search for the item, and copy the group of numbers at the very end of the URL.
***Note that the Brickseek Walmart Inventory Checker is not currently working for all items, as the data they receive has been updated. Many products may now report as “unknown”. We’ll keep an eye out for any further information on this.

I searched for “Hot Wheels Sky Crash Tower Track Set” on Walmart.com and then grabbed the SKU number (652524006) from the tail end of the URL. After entering the SKU and my zip code into Brickseek’s Walmart Inventory Checker, I could see which Walmart stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Target Inventory Checker
How to check Target inventory using Brickseek:
- Visit Brickseek’s Target Inventory Checker, enter your zip code, the DPCI # or UPC #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the DPCI # or UPC #, head to Target.com, search for the item, and then scroll down the page to the “Details” section to find the UPC# and DPCI#.
I searched for “Zuru X-Shot Excel Crusher” on Target.com and then grabbed the DPCI# 087-11-8667 (the UPC# is directly above the DPCI if you prefer to use that). After entering the DPCI and my zip code into Brickseek’s Target Inventory Checker I could see which Target stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek CVS Inventory Checker
How to check CVS inventory using Brickseek:
- Head on over to Brickseek’s CVS inventory checker, enter your zip code, the item SKU #, and then click the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your CVS, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the SKU # online, head to CVS.com, and search for the item. Scroll down and copy the Item # found near the top of the “Details” section.
I searched for “Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 2” on CVS.com, scrolled down the product page to the “Details” section, and then looked for the product’s item number (698908). This is the number I entered into the SKU# field on Brickseek’s CVS Inventory Checker. After entering the SKU and my zip code into Brickseek’s CVS Inventory Checker, I could see which CVS Pharmacies near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Staples Inventory Checker
How to check Staples inventory using Brickseek:
- Visit Brickseek’s Staples Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the SKU # or UPC #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local Staples, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the SKU # or UPC #, head to Staples.com, search for the item, and then click on the item you want. You will see the Item number listed beneath the product name, and this can be entered into the SKU# field in the Staples Inventory Checker.
I searched for “Staples Multiuse Copy Paper” on Staples.com and then grabbed the Item number (1149611) from the product page. After entering this number in the SKU field along with my zip code, I could then use Brickseek’s Staples Inventory Checker, to see which locations near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Home Depot Inventory Checker
How to check Home Depot inventory using Brickseek:
- Head over to Brickseek’s Home Depot Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the Internet #, then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local Home Depot, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the Internet #, head to HomeDepot.com, search for the item, and right above the product image on the left-hand side, you’ll see an Internet # with a group of numbers listed after that.
I searched for “Nexgrill 4-Burner Grill” on HomeDepot.com and then grabbed the Internet number (310654539) from the product page. After entering this number along with my zip code, I could then use Brickseek’s Home Depot Inventory Checker to see which stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Lowe’s Inventory Checker
How to check Lowes inventory using Brickseek:
- Visit Brickseek’s Lowe’s Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the Product # or UPC #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local Lowe’s, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the Product # (i.e. Item #), head to Lowes.com, search for the item, and then locate the Item # right below the name of the product.
I searched for “DeWalt 20-Volt Drill” on Lowes.com and then grabbed the Item number (797362) from the product page. After entering this number into Brickseek’s Product # field along with my zip code, I could use the Lowe’s Inventory Checker to see which stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Office Depot/OfficeMax Inventory Checker
How to check Office Depot inventory using Brickseek:
- Head on over to Brickseek’s Office Depot Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the Item # or UPC #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local Office Depot/OfficeMax, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the item # online, head to OfficeDepot.com, search for what you want, and then click on the product link. You will see the Item # listed next to the product name at the end of the title.
I searched for “Realspace Executive Chair” on OfficeDepot.com and then grabbed the Item number (219491) from the product page. After entering this number into Brickseek’s Office Depot Inventory Checker along with my zip code, I could then see which stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek Macy’s Inventory Checker
How to check Macy’s inventory using Brickseek:
- Visit Brickseek’s Macy’s Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the UPC #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local Macy’s, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- One drawback to using the Macy’s Inventory Checker is that you can’t locate product UPC numbers anywhere on the Macy’s website. It’s often possible to find an item’s UPC # by searching for the product on another retailer’s website that does publish that information. You can also try using a barcode lookup service.
I searched for “KitchenAid 7-Cup Food Processor” on BarcodeLookup.com and then grabbed the barcode number (883049473864), which can be used as the UPC# number on Brickseek. Since we know that Target.com has UPC numbers on its website, I also could have found this information there. Then, I entered the UPC# into Brickseek’s Macy’s Inventory Checker along with my zip code to see which stores near me had this item in stock.
Brickseek BJ’s Wholesale Club Inventory Checker
How to check BJ’s Wholesale Club inventory using Brickseek:
- Head on over to Brickseek’s BJ’s Wholesale Club Inventory Checker, enter your zip code and the SKU #, and then click on the Check Inventory button.
- You will then be able to view the price of the item, whether the item is in stock at your local BJ’s Wholesale Club, and the approximate number of items in stock.
- To locate the SKU # online, head to BJs.com, search for what you want, and then click on the product link. You will find the SKU # at the end of the URL, as a long string of numbers.
I searched for “Power AirFryer XL” on BJs.com and then grabbed the SKU number (3000000000001748753) from the product page URL. After entering this number into Brickseek’s BJ’s Wholesale Club Inventory Checker along with my zip code, I could then see which stores near me had this item in stock.
Just beware. I went to 5 Target stores in town looking for a LEGO set that was supposedly at each, but was eventually told by an employee that it had been discontinued
I also went to 2 Targets yesterday looking for a specific Lego set that was supposedly in stock. The store associates were also finding that it showed a few in stock on their end, but we couldn’t locate that Lego. They said their inventory sometimes shows wrong or the Lego set may have been stolen which is why it still would show 2 available. They even looked through the returns.
Brickseek can be a great resource, but it is definitely hit or miss, esp. with sale items. It takes some trial and error to see what locations are accurate and what aren’t (I have a few Walmarts in my area that consistently show high stock of items that aren’t there).
Yes, but I also think if it’s showing high stock (and you’ve confirmed in the Walmart app that it’s in stock- it will say “in stock” when there are 5 or more of that item in stock and it will say “limited stock” below that), it IS THERE… if you can’t find it, employees are hiding it in back or the stock room is a mess and they didn’t pull it…. trust me, I spent a couple of weeks looking for some tubs that were down to $1 each at one walmart, brickseek said there were over 16 in stock and the Walmart app said “in stock” (so on their end 5 or more)… every time I would go in I would ask an employee; I constantly got “if it’s in stock, it’s on the shelf”… THEN I found an employee who was actually good at her job- she said hmm it looks like they should be here, I’ll check in back… she asked an employee who had just told me it was out of stock to help her look in back and low and behold they brought out an ENTIRE BOX filled with the tubs I was looking for!!!! She commented that if I was good with that box she was going to try to find more in back for herself (which from checking brickseek I assume she did)- which is fine by me! I got what I wanted. Also at Walmart they are supposed to be going through the stock WEEKLY and zeroing out items that aren’t in stock and adjusting counts (to account for theft and miscounts)- I suspect a lot don’t do this… however, again I think a lot of them are hiding a ton of stuff in back – I was looking for some doll on clearance and there were 3 versions of her- every one had “in stock” (and still does- so there should be at least 15- too high a number for theft to be accounted for as these are BIG dolls- I’ve been told she is out of stock- well why don’t they zero it out?- I’ve even had a manager claim it’s not there, so she should’ve zeroed it in the spot- It’s been about 2 months since I started looking for her… they don’t zero out bc they are in back- hidden by an employee(s)!!- if a clearance item gets zeroed out, it goes back up to FULL PRICE!! So the employees hiding stuff still want it to be “in stock”- just not available to customers
While maybe there are instances where workers hide things in the backroom, I don’t believe an item missing for 2 months would account for this. Also there tends to not be many places to actually hide things in the backroom. Most employees I knew would put something aside to buy at the end of their shift at the worst. As someone who worked for Walmart the backroom was a Disaster and zeroing something out could be a big deal (more so for a non-clearance item) as it would automatically order more of that item, and it could honestly be anywhere in a disorganized backroom. There are other reason that in stock could be off aside from theft, honestly other merchandise could have come in mislabeled with that item, a mispick is what they call it, or something the store was charged for and didn’t receive, or something randomly not located in the backroom. Please don’t always think the worst of people!
Yes you have to have a lot of patience and expect you may get nothing. If you go in thinking of definitely gonna find what you’re looking for you will be disappointed likely
Yup! It’s true. Those workers hide stuff in the back for themselves. Many occasions I come asking for stuff that was on sale bc of the good deal. The workers would tell me it’s out or blame theft for the miscount on inventory. I walked away but somehow still in the area. Then I saw that same worker pulled out the stuff I wanted when he was leaving for his shift for himself. Another time when the worker said they don’t have, but I heard his co-worker whispered to him. We got plenty in the back & the other worker that said inventory is wrong due to theft etc etc said “sshh man, it’s mine. So I left it back there”
Me 😡…. But I decided not to push further as it’s not worth the energy over a deal. Those employees like to blame theft for everything. I used to believe it but now think about it. How can a thief walk out with a 75” tv & get away with it? Or Lego sets that boxed big. There are cameras everywhere & psychologically people would be to scared to just walk out without paying. It’s more likely the workers hid the deals from you so they can use it themselves
FYI, From my recent experience, Target values its in-store customers over their “buy online for pick-up” customers. If you ordered something for pick up, and there are only a few left, an in-store customer can buy it out from under you, even if you’ve already paid for it online. This just happened to me twice at two different Targets for the same item. They kept cancelling my order. My husband went to a Third Target to pick up the item I ordered and paid for, but they wouldn’t give it to him because there were 2 other online order requests in front of him and only 2 items in stock. However, since he was in the store, they counted him as an “in-store” customer. They told him to cancel the online order and to just buy the item right out of the stockroom. So he did. I wouldn’t have fussed so much but this was the big Christmas gift. Hope this helps your shopping strategy!

Nope! They think a customer is a customer who pays full price. There’s this cashier I noticed always gives certain customers with coupons a hard time, she won’t scan the coupon & scrutinize it with every excuse so the customers won’t use coupons. She even calls the manager over & manager yes the coupons. But she’s still pretending to read the coupons after the manager walks away. I don’t use coupons & boy she’s so nice to me after yelling at the old lady in front of me that used coupons. One time I was talking to another cashier about that particular cashier & she said “that lady uses coupons herself & she has a coupon book. Not sure why she’s hates her own kind. Maybe she jealous when others get a deal & she can’t get the deal herself bc she’s stuck at work”
Then I’m like “right…..makes sense! Not sure why cashiers would be mean to customers with coupons or people with their own habits. Geez do your job & worry about yourself.”
That “coupon” cashier lady was giving this family that bought $200 worth of groceries an attitude bc they were double bagging some of their stuff. I can see the stuff is pretty heavy & they have a reason to do it. The rude couple nazis cashier told customers “if u want trash bags, it’s back there in plastic aisle” …..sometimes I see people throw their bags in the trashcan as they walk out but they just like to bag their things or when an item is heavy, people double bag for safety.
Numerous times when I have cashier jamming my Clorox together with my fruits, eggs…the bag would rip on my way to the house. Eggs cracked in the driveway, fruits busted from the fall, or Clorox soaking through my food just BECAUSE those cheap cashiers jam everything in 1 bag & not doubling it. I wasted so much money from food falling out of the thin plastic bag which could’ve been saved if they put less items in the bag or doubling it.
Nobody uses the small plastic grocery bag as trash bag. You cant put much trash in there. Even if they use it for trash, it’s only 1-2 small items. They can’t use the bags as everyday trash bags for a whole week worth of trash. Some cashiers need to learn how to be kind to others. The funny part is the bags isn’t theirs! It’s the company for the customers which the customers paid for.
Last week I ordered online and did a pickup in store because I had a return too. The clerk couldn’t find the toaster with the rest of the order, but said if I could wait a minute he’d go pick one up on the floor. It just depends on the store and/or employee. I don’t think it’s a company-wide policy.
As someone who works at Target this is not true that an in-store customer is valued more than an online one. The system works in such a way that allows you to place the order when an item is in stock. The order however is not immediately picked off the salesfloor or backroom until a team member physically selects the order and finds the item. Depending on how many orders were placed before yours (most are given 2 hour windows to be picked so must be done in order they were received) there is always a chance that 1)another online order was placed before yours and picked before yours or 2)a customer is in the store and buys the item off the shelf. There is no bias involved as the people picking the orders don’t even know what items they will need to pick until the order is started.

I have pretty solid luck with Walmart just using their app. You can check if things are in stock and where exactly the item is located. It’s been pretty accurate in my experience

Hi there! This is an online tool to get an idea of the possible pricing and availability at your locations. This can vary. You would then head in store to find and purchase your clearance item. Hoping that helps!
Walmart changed the way they report items to outside vendors/third parties and Brickseek no longer works.

This is SO roundabout. I mean, having to check each store individually for each item? Why doesn’t brickseek let you search all stores in one search? That would save so much time and trouble.
