“After reading the negative reviews on this bed I was hesitant to buy it so my wife and I went to the store and looked at it. We thought it seemed very sturdy, safe and well built so we bought it! The issues on the reviews I read were ‘It’s hard to put together’, ‘The instructions are terrible!’, etc.
Well, after getting it home and unboxing it, my wife left to go get the kids from school. I read the instructions and started to put it together. I was about 1/3 of the way done when the fam came home. My 5 and 8-year-old finished helping me build the bed. Honestly, it was one of the easiest IKEA products I’ve put together!”

Need bedding to go with your new bunk bed?
Why buy IKEA bedding?
All of the bedding I’m sharing from IKEA is woven from sustainably grown cotton. Not only does it get softer with every wash, but it’s also breathable and wicks away moisture. Better yet, it’s easy to keep clean with machine washing.
As a bonus, all of this bedding is quality-tested and contains no substances, phthalates, or chemicals that can harm your child’s skin or health.

IKEA has kids table & chair sets for under $30 – perfect for the playroom!
I purchased the duvet and pillowcase with the hearts all over it for my daughter about 4 years ago and it still looks great and has gotten even softer over the years. I have had 2 different kinds of duvets from IKEA for myself that were either too rough or tore apart very easily, but not my daughter’s. I highly recommend it.
I’m glad to hear it has held up so well! Thanks for letting us know, natpav!
I have the mydal bunk bed. We have been using it for years. It’s not that hard to put together. Initially it is time consuming but we have moved with it 4 times. We take some of it apart to move and put it back together. It’s still holding up after 8 years of use by 2 boys! Love it.
I also have 2 plaid matching duvet covers from ikea. Not from the kids section. I figured it would last longer that way. They are great too!
It’s great to hear how well your bunk has held up over all your moves! That’s awesome, shannont!
