A state stimulus check might be headed your way in 2022.

Some states are providing economic relief via tax rebates.

Though the federal government probably won’t send stimulus checks in 2022, you might be receiving some help from your state. In the latest attempt to combat inflation and stave off a recession, well over a dozen states have decided to send income tax rebate checks to their residents. Most of these refunds are for small amounts (so don’t get too excited) but we do have the scoop on who qualifies and when to expect a payment!

Find your state below and see if you qualify for a stimulus payment:

It says mine was direct deposited into my bank account but theres nothing in my acvount

    • April Morningstar

Me too I’ve got the same issue I just found out it was deposited on the 10th but it’s not there!

      • Diane

How frustrating that people don’t have their first one when other people are going to be getting their second one. Called and they said it would be there by the end of this month. Not too confident, as there are only 3 days left.

        • Raine

Mine shows it is being sent July 31st. You can check status in irs.gov

    • Dianna Turner

I received 1.12 in my account about 4 daYs ago. But I got a stimulus check in June. What is the 1.12 for?

      • Stephen A Sparks

        Me too I got a 1.70

        • Sweetklouise

When did you file your tax refund? It’s probably interests. If you google it, itll show you many articles on the IRS giving interest to those returns who filed and didn’t receive their refunds until a certain date or something like that.

  2. Cindy Thompson

I have tried numerous times to enter my info and it won’t take it. I have moved and do not have a bank account and haven’t filed taxes in the last two years. My info does not match my drivers license but I have my drivers license number and my social security number. Isn’t that proof it’s me???? What do I do to register so I get my check? So frustrated. Need the stimulus check. Help please and thank you.

    • Jennifer Welton

Check out https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here-tool-scenarios. More than likely you will need to get your drivers license updated. Your number is meaningless if the address is not valid. I think by law in most states you are required to update it within a certain amount of time of moving. That may be why it’s not taking your info. If the address on file with your state from your license is different from where you are requesting a check sent it’s likely a fraud red flag for the govt. You can update it online. I did that in PA two years ago and I think I just had to upload a copy of a utility bill as proof. Good luck!

  3. Latonja M George

My question is my check was mailed but want to get my payment direct deposit

  4. Robert L Wise

I recieved my first stemloius check but I forgot my email address I used when I filed with turbotax. Can you please help me.

    • chesca

What in the….? Shouldn’t you contact either the IRS or Turbo Tax? Im completely confused how/why this was posted.

    • hip2trade

If you received your first stimulus check you should receive the latest one without doing anything, as far as I know. If you’re looking for Tax information contact the irs. Also check your email accounts for turbo tax emails. Eventually you will find what you’re looking for if not deleted.

  5. Mel

It’s a bit ridiculous that a round two is possibly coming when round one hasn’t even been distributed properly. I’m just going to continue to be oblivious to any stimulus talk. It’s better to just act like I don’t have anything coming when that seems to be the case anyway.

    • John W Ingram

Some have received their first checks and despararely need the second check. To hold up sending all the second checks because some didnt receive their first one yet is a ridiculous idea.

    • Suz A.

Can you tell me the percentage of people that haven’t received their checks yet?

  6. hip2trade

    So many old comments…

    • hip2jen

I know I was like is this an old post?

      • Donna

I saw over 1500 comments listed under this heading of the second stimulus and I thought wow!! y’all were busy in the last 8 hours commenting!! LOL 🙂 I am curious about the unemployment extension if anyone has more info on that.

PS. I would recommend starting a new “Round 2 Stimulus” discussion so we do not have to weed thru 1500 comments that were left from the “Round 1 Stimulus”

        • Amber (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks so much for the recommendation and feedback! I have passed this along to the team.

        • tracy

The last I read, GOP wants to reduce the $600/week unemployment stimulus. They are trying to hammer out a plan where unemployment will pay people 70% of their salary. OR there is a plan that the new unemployment stimulus will pay an additional $200/week (instead of $600.) Hope we know more soon.

          • DebJ

Really sad that they’re wanting to reduce the $600, but this is what happens when the lazy people choose to sit back and keep collecting rather than get a job and EARN their money.

            • Jane

Most don’t have jobs to get back to. To paint everyone as lazy is what is wrong with this country. Zero empathy and just parrot talking points to keep the poor poor.

              • Anna

                Nope.
Lazy and undereducated is what’s wrong with this country, not painting someone lazy.
The poor are poor because of their choices, government handouts aren’t going to help them.

                • Lorna

                  Agree! Lazy and uneducated.

                  • Sally

Sometimes there is a reason why people are poor…such as a tragedy.

                • Sally

Some people are poor because they have expensive health issues or other tragedies. Perhaps the breadwinner died & they are left with nothing. You are too quick to judge:

            • shop4mybabies

wait? you’re sad because they are going to reduce the 600, but people that want to collect it are lazy? In my house, we didn’t have to collect unemployment, we are lucky, not harder working than many. I agree that 600 extra a week was too much money, many folks were making 2-4x their salary, but that’s because many americans do not earn a LIVING wage to start with

          • bmiles

Thanks for posting the summary. If they end up paying people 70% of their salary, no one will go back to work! They need to stop extending the unemployment benefits so that there is no incentive to stay home. There are a lot of jobs out there. People just don’t want to work when they can get something for nothing.

            • cono1987

              Well said 👏

            • Mere

Actually, with the virus raging at a higher rate than when the additional $600 was first implemented, staying at home is exactly what we need to incentivize.

            • Sally

bmiles ~ Just so your aware, there are still thousands of people laid off due to Covid. A job that they love! If a person is job attached, then they deserve to collect unemployment until their job is safe to open back up. They didn’t ask to have their job taken away! What needs to happen is, open everything back up at 100%!! No restrictions!!

            • Daisy

What are you talking about? How can people pay their bills that they had before Covid on 70% of their income?? Those who were laid off when everything shut down didnt ASK to have their jobs taken from them!! If everything would open back up at 100%, the jobs would open and people could move on with their lives. Just an FYI, if you were laid off and job attached, once things started to re-open, if you were called back to work, you have to return or you will lose your unemployment benefits. Also, remember hundreds of stores are operating at reduced hours, those who were used to fulltime are now working way less hours a week at not fault of their own.

            • seatowngirl

Thats the mentality we should foster. Ignore a global pandemic ravishing lives. Super intelligent.

          • Donna

            Thank you, tracy!

        • Monique

I agree with Donna’s comment and I read and have heard and can confirm that Tracy is correct on what the GOP hopes to accomplish in regards to unemployment

        • Evie

They cut unemployment during the last crisis because the gov. Hope’s you run out and take a low wage job. Just save your money! Too many are being laid off and forced retired so they can give our jobs to people from other countries!
This is how globalism works, money taken out of your pocket and given to others! You get to pay for it, while told you are getting a deal!
Lots of the stimulus went into the stock market! I do not condone foolish gambling but a lot of people realize we are living in a bubble everything economy!

  7. mikerawill

How does it work for individuals on child support , do they receive it as well?

    • Dawn

You will receive the payment whether you are receiving or paying child support. The only time you will not receive payment is if back child support is owed. Then the payment is intercepted.

      • Kathy W.

Dawn, we are owed thousands of dollars in back child support. Is there any way to tell if the patent who owes the support received a stimulus check? I’m sure she hasn’t filed a tax return in years. I wonder if we have any recourse. It would be like her to not go on the website and sign up, just to be spiteful.

  8. MarieN

WARNING: We had to provide our direct deposit information AGAIN to the IRS despite the fact that it was already on our 2019 tax submission. (We used online tax software for electronic filing in 2019, with direct deposit. Did that cause this issue? We’re not sure.)

  9. kamilasubova

I wish the stimulus check was for everybody paying taxes, immigrants too. I pay taxes, have been in US for 20 years, have 3 kids and nothing for us. At least my kids should get something

    • dylanfan

Wow, that is really sad you are excluded.

    • DebJ

Are you here illegally? If so, I’m guessing that’s why. If you’re here legally, then you and your three children ARE entitled to the stimulus check.

      • weml

You don’t just ask someone if they are here illegally. How rude.

        • don

How is that rude? If they immigrated but didnt become full citizens then they should go the route to become a full citizen to be entitled to everything like a citizen is.

          • Mima

Don do you know how hard it is to become a citizen? It is not like you just walk in the door at USCIS and sign up, there are quotas, sometimes you need a sponsor and it is very costly to apply. Please do some research.

            • Baker's Wife

So, that justifies being here illegally?

              • shop4mybabies

not being a citizen doesn’t mean you are here illegally. there are millions of people in this country who are not citizens, who do not want to be citizens, who work and pay taxes.

    • Amber

My mom immigrated here 50 years ago on a green card. Never became a US citizen but she has a job, a home, pays taxes, and she got one….

      • E

Pretty sure green card holders got it. Husband is a citizen now, but he got tax refunds etc when he had a green card. Treated just like a citizen, just couldn’t vote.

    • rockythao

As long as you have a SSN and file taxes every year, you should be receiving one. Exceptions are you make too much.

    • cono1987

Same here 😕 My children and I were born in the states and just because my husband wasn’t, none of us qualify for the stimulus check. They should at least grant it to the children.

      • Evie

If your children were born in the USA they are automatic citizens! So many make money flying people into the country so they can have children so they become citizens. I do not think they eliminated”birthright citizenship.”

      • TonTon

I wasn’t born in the US (dual citizenship) and we still got ours. My mom is here with a green card (since 1992, my dad born in the US) and they got theirs.

    • shop4mybabies

it is. my husbands wife is from Vietnam. She is here on a green card, and pays taxes, she got it

  10. Csandst1

Ugh. This kills me. We still don’t qualify for a stimulus check even though my husband was laid off November 2018. He received his severance last year which pushes last year’s income over the maximum. We REALLY need the money 😩

    • Laura Lynn N.

I know this doesn’t help NOW, but the stimulus is not totally lost to you. If your income is lower in 2020 then you may receive it when you file your taxes in 2021. Some people’s incomes might be much lower in 2020 compared to 2018/2019 due to COVID-19, so they may qualify then.

  11. Mollie

For the ones that did not receive your stimulus payment the first time, double check your income tax return. If you used a tax preparer, was your tax refund directly deposited? The tax preparer should be the one handling this for you. If you filed yourself, double check to make sure that everything is correct. If everything is correct, file a Grievance Report and make a copy of all of your documents including driver’s license and social security card. Send no original papers. Also, you can ask for a copy of the check. If you had it mailed to you, then your check may have gone to your address and because it didn’t look like something official from the IRS, you may have thrown it away. Also, on the Debit Card from social security and/ or the VA, they will not put it on the card because it will show as income that is reported on the form that you receive at the end of the year, because it is not taxed money.

  12. Suzanne

Once again, the spouses of those with back child support are left out.

    • Ashley

No worries- at least their children are taken care of for a change.

      • Kathleen

        Exactly 👏

  13. Marilynn

Well it is true that some people really could use this money, I do think it is sad that they are doing this again, though. Our government does not have trillions of dollars sitting around to throw at people for no reason at all. This is something that our children and grandchildren are going to be having to be paying on for the rest of their lives. I am not saying that there should not be help for those who need the help, but many that I know just used it for TVs and golf club and things that are not necessities.I used my last one toward doctor bills.

    • MellisaB

They would have the extra money if we as a country would stop giving any money to other countries. Our citizens pay taxes and other countries benefit, that is beyond absurd to me. We should take care of our own citizens first!!!!!

    • Stop it

You need to be better informed…do you know there is a 30 billion $ set aside for defense spending? That is something we didnt really need during a pandemic….our defense spending is already bloated…and our kids will be paying for all these decisions…helping our ppl by putting money in their pockets actually stimulate the economy…defense contractors are not doing that.

      • Ashley

Apparently you’re not familiar with the fact that Russia and China are CONSTANTLY directly off of our coast lines with submarines filled with nuclear war heads. Maybe you need to speak to a member of our military because cutting defense is NEVER a good idea because war games never stop with those countries that want to end our way of life.

    • C

I’m pretty sure that some of the reasoning behind the checks is that they also want to improve the economy. Right or wrong, buying a TV or putting money into golf etc. Is helping with that.

    • Cari

This is OUR money! The government’s money is our money!

  14. Jenny Green

My son gets children support but she is so far behind. She lives with her mother and mother claims her on taxes ( 34yrs old) as a dependent. She said he wont get stimulus money since shes a dependent of her mother. He has never heard from its or about past child support stimulus money?

  15. Em

Now how about you link up “deals” to financial planning information instead of encouraging people to spend their money at Starbucks. Show some responsibility Hip 2 Save

    • Amber

How people spend their money is their own business. Hip2save is not going to monitor your bank account and make sure you’re spending your money “responsibly”. Keep it movin’.

    • Deanna

Show some gratitude…. You are not obligated to follow their posts. If you don’t like the content go do something else with your time. Rude.

    • Michele K.

There are classes for that you should take one!

  16. Jenny Green

My son gets children support but she is so far behind. She lives with her mother and mother claims her on taxes ( 34yrs old) as a dependent. She said he wont get stimulus money since shes a dependent of her mother?

  17. HG

My child was born on New Year’s day of this year & was excluded from 1st stimulus. Will he be excluded from the 2nd stimulus as well?

    • MommySpendsLess

They based the last stimulus on your 2018 or 2019 tax returns. From what I read it’s actually a 2020 tax credit so if you’re due more than you received you can get the difference when you file your 2020 tax return next year.
Last I heard it didn’t clearly state whether you’ll owe money back if you’re due less than you received (for instance if your income significantly increased or you and a former spouse take turns claiming your children)

    • jenniferwilliams44

My daughter was born in January and I was in the same boat. Would be nice for this round, but I’m assuming it will be the same thing because they can only go off of our taxes from 2019.

      • ligr80

You will get a bigger tax refund in 2021 for the data from 2020

  18. Alice

I looked for my Stimulus check when they sent them out. Thought I didn’t get it? Checked website and it said that it was sent. I checked my bank account everyday. Called the place were I get my taxes done. And guess what, it was deposited in another bank account I have! Two years ago I gave the wrong bank account number for my taxes! I looked at that account and there was the Stimulus check. It had been sitting in there a whole month! So I called my tax people and told them to change my account number in their records. So hopefully that will not happen again😊 So y’all make sure your tax people have the correct account number😉

  19. cono1987

Well there goes another check my kids and I wont be getting 😒

  20. mkarias1

My sister in law still has not received hers. It is impossible to get someone to help at the IRS. She finally got a hold of someone who told her they will research and get back to her in a few weeks. Doubt they will get back to her.

  21. riya2

When i can expected to get the stimulus checks?( I got my 1st check two month before. thanks

  22. Mary

Nice! We’ll be donating it to our church. Almost $6,000.

Does anyone know what to do if my baby is born by the time they send out checks? We are due any day so obviously baby wasn’t on last year’s taxes.

    • MommySpendsLess

From what I read about the first stimulus, it’s actually an estimated prepayment on a 2020 tax credit so if you’re due more than you received you can get the difference when you file your 2020 tax return next year.

Last I heard it didn’t clearly state whether you’ll owe money back if you’re due less than you received (for instance if your income significantly increased or you and a former spouse take turns claiming your children)

  24. Evie

Where did all of these people come from? Wow!

  25. Laura Lynn N.

Everything I have read said you will not have to pay back any excess you receive. With that in mind, if you received a ridiculously excessive amount because of a glitch, that will be different.

  26. Charles

Why is it that there was no mention of the Hero’s Act Proposed over 9 months ago ? Why is this written as if the first round of stimulus checks came from Trump and not the Congress. Why is it that Republicans waited nine weeks to have an alternate plan. Please if you are going to be political be Honest.

    • Charles

it was over 2 months ago. There was a typo

      • ktjo

Some of the conservative politicians I follow wanted a one page, no fluff stimulus with only money for the American People. Have you read what is in the stimulus? It’s disgusting. A complete slap in the face to the people congress is supposed to serve.

        • kittykat

Lol no they wanted more money to help corporations, that’s what’s disgusting. I didn’t know corporations were people now.

  27. Demi

Nobody is getting a second check because nothing has passed Congress yet.
People who say they got it or it’s been deposited are lying.

  28. shop4mybabies

this round has not yet been approved, there are so many things in the bill that have zero to do with covid and or stimulus, like 1.75 BILLION for a new FBI building 4 BILLION for defense spending. It’s absolutely insane the things that our government slips into something that is meant to help the people and businesses. In the last round of stimulus most of the SMALL business money went to big businesses…Kanye wests billion dollar company got a 5 million dollar stimulus…and that is just one example. Americans need to be more informed…we are ALL going to pay for this

  29. Jane Kriz

I received my stimulus payment July 29th. I presume that is the first round?

  30. Lyn Tallant

Did anyone received the missing stimulus check for the dependents? I remember i heard it somewhere that it will be later if you have not received it yet. I did surely received another $1000 from my two kids that where missing from April’s releasing of the stimulus check. Thank you dear Lord because i absolutely needed it!!!

    • Lyn T

ohhh and i received it today.

  31. Anna Lockwood

I was up doing studies last night,8/16/2020 and my notification showed something for my bank account. I checked and it said Irs treas 310, tax ref + $3.54. I checked to see online and found out that is how it is titled. I did get the first round and I know some have not received the first. I know some said here that they are showing something was deposited but nothing. I just can’t believe that they would put nothing or 3.54 cents. It’s like when you joke around with your dog and pretend to trick them into thinking you threw the ball to play around with them. We at least did that to hype up the joy in the dog and had every intention of actually throwing the ball. I guess at least I got that. Thank you Mr. CARING Gov. I can but two loaves of bread to eat over the next six months. No I know but I am being sarcastic to them who have not felt the loss of a job or food for their kids or themselves during this whole pandemic that they caused.

  32. SLThomas

Just checked my account. $3.54 as well. WTH?

    • John M Gibson

same mine was 1.79 like um ok ???

  33. Kiki

I just received an IRS Treasury 310 deposit for $17.10 in my checking account. What is it? Already received the stimulus deposits in June. So, does this have anything to do with the stimulus?

    • Vanessa ortega

Same here. I received 5.90 and it’s still pending

      • Vanessa ortega

My bank app says IRS TREAS 310 co entry

    • Vanessa ortega

My bank app says “IRS TREAS 310 co entry”. I’m confused.

    • Anonymous

I just noticed this as well for $12 in my account. I did receive the stimulus check DD in June too. So what’s going on with this one?

    • MysterySolved

Hey I found out it’s an interest payment from the IRS for people who filed on or before the July 15 deadline. There was an article in USA TODAY about it if you want to read it.

“The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department will send interest payments with an average of $18 to about 13.9 million taxpayers, according to a statement by the IRS.

The interest payments will be deposited to taxpayers who filed their tax return by this year’s July 15 deadline and either received a refund in the past three months or will receive a refund.

Most interest payments will be issued separately from tax refunds, according to the statement. “

Found the answer in an article from USA TODAY.

  35. Nicole

Mine still saying they mailed it out on june 12 2020 it now September how do I have to wait to get the second one?

  36. cindyuhi

I wonder how it works if you just got married? Hmm…

    • Tricia

I think you should both still get $600 each if you individually filed your taxes in 2019.

  37. Lisa

Waste of money, keep your $600. Does anyone realize the billions we are sending to other Countries. Look it up, ridiculous!!!

    • DebJ

I wonder if President Trump can increase the $600 amount via executive order?

      • Cari

He’s only worried about himself, not the American people.

        • Elena

          Who are you talking about?

      • lori-0

        He doesn’t care

    • wifeandmomof3

      Agreed!

    • Elena

Exactly!! It’s disgusting. They shut business down and destroy lives and then they send our money to other countries.

  38. Jackie

Upset that they consider “adult” dependent 17 or older. These kids are still in high school! What’s the difference between a 17 year old in high school and a 10 year old? Why is this age bracket not getting their money? This is just don’t understand.

    • Mama2Nine

Same. It’s not fair! I wonder if they can file to receive it on their own?

      • Mama2Nine

Also, I had a baby in April 2019. I didn’t receive money for him bc he wasn’t on my 2019 taxes bc I was still pregnant when I filed. Ridiculous.

        • Danielle

My daughter was born December 31, 2019 and we got the last stimulus check for her 🤷‍♀️ we filed out taxes in February 2020

        • derendabrown

As I understand it, if you had a baby this year, you will get the money when you file your taxes for 2020. The government doesn’t know your child exist (they are going by your 2019 tax returns right now.) In which case, you will get an $1,100 bonus on your tax return.

      • Jackie

I know! But not sure how they could file for it…because they are STILL DEPENDENT, Not filing taxes yet. This is frustrating and makes no sense to me. Glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s crazy and not fair🤷‍♀️.

    • DebJ

A 17 year old is old enough to get a job. A 10 year old isn’t? Just a guess.

      • Jackie

A 17 year could get a job BUT during this pandemic time he/she can’t! Even the schools here are doing hybrid and sometimes all on line. Also I pay taxes for my 17 year old the same way I pay taxes for my 10 year old so your reasoning is way off lady. My 17 year eats more than my 10 year old and he/she is a dependent the same way my 10 year old is. Do you know that even some college kids can’t get a job? Our college closed after thanksgiving and ask all the students to move home until January. They can’t get stable jobs. Have you been living under a ROCK? They are having a hard time finding jobs! My 17 year old was going to work as a lifeguard this summer…our pools DID NOT OPEN during the summer. Again No jobs! This type of comment makes me angry. Specially when you don’t know how hard this has been even for the 17-24 year old kids that you are saying should have a job.

        • MommySpendsLess

Jackie, I’m sorry you’re having a rough time. I could be mistaken but I didn’t read DebJ’s comment to mean that she thought your 17yo should get a job or that it was easy to find a job right now, especially the type that most high school/college kids are qualified for. I interpreted it that she was making a guess as to the reasoning of the people who wrote the document.

        • Serranojs

          Dang.. you sound pissed… Lol

    • Amy

so if there wasn’t a pandemic, would you be asking this? have you not have them put aside savings or yourself? just because you have a child, does not mean you are owed anything.

  39. Jenny

I had a baby two months ago… do you guys think I would qualify to receive the extra $600 for my dependent?

    • DebJ

I think it’s based on your 2019 tax return.

    • Jackie

I am not sure but I don’t think you can. I think it’s based on the dependents filed under the 2019 taxes. Now I am not sure, hopefully you can get the money.

    • Supersavingmom19

I’ve read you can file for your baby with your 2020 taxes. I am in the same boat.

  40. Kathryn

I just hope they fixed the glitch where deceased people received checks, what a waste of resources.

    • daisy-0

Kinda hard to do when 1,000s are dying every week to Covid alone. Forget all the other things that kill people daily

      • IB

Over deaths for 2020 are down from 2019.

        • Emily

That’s not true. Final counts of deaths haven’t been released for 2019 let alone 2020, and the CDC estimated approximately 300,000 excess deaths in 2020 back in October.

I can provide you with some fact check sources if you need them.

          • Kathleen

If all the people on here repeating false claims are getting their ‘facts’ from a source like Fox News, an admitted Entertainment show not a News source, or social media, then they likely aren’t going to stretch their reasoning to look into your actual fact sources 😥

            • Emily

That’s the sad part. I do my best to make my decisions based on facts, but so many people are fine listening to really biased sources that use half-truths (at best), conspiracies, and straight-up lies.

              Anyway… Here’s the CDC’s excess death report:
              https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm

              Stay safe and healthy, everyone.

      • huertac1

I think they meant in general. My father in law passed away in December 2019 and got the first stimulus check. Not from COVID, they were just not updated with their information.

    • elewis91

I agree! I don’t think she meant COVID deaths. There were a lot of people that had passed away years ago that their families were receiving stimulus checks for. My husbands grandpa passed away 8 years ago and his wife received a paper stimulus check for him which she did not cash and contacted them about it. Everything was legally finished as far as his estate ages ago so no one was sure why she received this.

  41. Sushi

Our family is thankful that we’re getting a check. At first, the second stimulus didn’t include a payout to individuals. While my husband is fortunate to have a job, his hours have been permanently reduced. This check will help.

  42. Hardworking mom

Could had been more money for everyone in the US, if they weren’t sending billions of dollars to other countries. Sad times will live in. American people can’t pay their mortgages and long lines for food pantries. And we the people will pay more in taxes. Just saying.

  43. Nic

$600 per person will not fix an American financial crisis, FYI

  44. Zara

Wow, how many RICH and NASTY people here! There are many who are struggling financially right now. I am thankful for any help I get specially if it helps me feed my children. We only go out to eat on kids birthdays, yeah 3 times per year, and I’m sure there are many like that. Shame on those who comment and get into the people’s business how they spend their money!

    • daisy-0

Agreed! You can tell by the comments who use H2S to actually save and who use it as a means for just shopping and blowing money because they can.

    • kristi

Some working people think of the effects of these stimulus checks. Yes, you may get your $600 now, but your children and grandchildren will be paying for it. In the end, the “poor” people receiving hand-outs from the government already gets more hand-outs, the rich profits from it, and it’s the middle class that actually pays for it.

      • mrswagley

        Agreed!

  45. AVE

Question, I exceeded the 39 weeks PUA a month ago and now they extended it for 11 more weeks, do I have to go through the application process again or will the option be available again to file weekly? My only option now when login in is apply for regular unemployment. Went to my local unemployment office and they said 🤷🏽‍♀️. TIA!!

    • daisy-0

Giiirl!! I was in the phone with u employment this morning to extend benefits (you know after waiting two months for a call back) and the guy I spoke with said that they still have to create the program in order to do the extension and pay out which could take 2-4 weeks!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ This nightmare just keeps going. With our government actually gave a shot about us!

  46. Mollie

I am sorry that some of you feel this way. But think of the children and families that are having a hard time getting food, keeping the electricity on, and etc. My husband and I are were able to pick up eight families this year and that is exactly what we done.

  47. IB

A paltry $600…while the stimulus that is supposed to help US citizens/workers sends BILLIONS to foreign countries. Politicians…Dem and Rep…don’t care about us.

  48. Julia

Feeling grateful over here for any amount as it was not really expected.

  49. Mom2six

Does anyone know if we have to claim this on our 2020 taxes?

    • Carrie

I read a local news story that said you do not have to claim the stimulus checks on your taxes.

  50. Liz

People who owe back child support on this check? Any info

    • tipaye

I’ve read that *spouses* of those with back child support don’t receive it, so I’m sure that carries over to the person who owes.

    • derendabrown

They aren’t holding out back child support this time around. Those who owe child support will still get a check…
