Veterans Day 2023 is Saturday, November 11th, and many stores and restaurants plan to offer up free meals and other discounts, freebies, and deals for veterans, active-duty military members, and their spouses!
Please note that in many cases, proof of military service is required to get these deals. We recommend calling ahead to make sure that your local restaurants and retailers are participating (and to verify their ID requirements).
While we wait for the 2023 deals to start rolling in, here’s a look at all the best Veterans Day Free Meals, Deals, & Freebies that were available in 2022!
10% OFF in-store and online at Academy Sports
All military and first responders got 10% off their in-store and online purchases at Academy Sports on Veterans Day 2022.
A free entrée at Applebee’s
On Veterans Day 2022, U.S. veterans and active-duty military got a FREE full-size entrée at participating Applebee’s restaurants (valid for dine-in only). Proof of military service was required. Take a look at the menu for this special event!
A FREE Craft Burger from Bar Louie.
On Veterans Day 2022, Bar Louie invited all active and retired military to enjoy a complimentary Bar Louie Craft Burger on the house! This offer was valid all day long for dine-in only, and recipients had to show a valid military ID.
A FREE entrée and drink from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse.
Veterans and active-duty military personnel got a complimentary entrée (up to a $14.95 value), plus a free Dr. Pepper at BJ’s. Valid military ID or proof of service was required.
A FREE meal at Bob Evans
Veterans and active-duty military personnel got a FREE meal from Bob Evans’ Veterans Day Menu on November 11, 2022. This offer was valid for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!
A free medium coffee at Bruegger’s Bagels
On Veterans Day 2022, veterans got a FREE medium, fresh-brewed hot or iced coffee with their breakfast order at Bruegger’s Bagels.
40% off your stay at Caesars Entertainment Resorts
In 2022, all Caesars Entertainment Resorts offered up to 40% off the best available rate for veterans and active-duty military!
Blackout dates did apply, and this offer could not be combined with Caesars Rewards loyalty member offers, room packages, and promotions with property and/or room add-ons/inclusions (show tickets, food credits, resort credits, etc.).
A FREE entrée and beverage from California Pizza Kitchen
On November 11th, 2022, all Veterans and Active Military were invited to receive a complimentary non-alcoholic beverage and choice of entrée from CPK’s special Veterans Day menu. This offer was valid for dine-in only.
A complimentary appetizer or dessert from Carrabba’s
On November 11th, 2022, veterans and active-duty military personnel who dined in at Carrabba’s received a complimentary appetizer or dessert with a non-alcoholic beverage.
A FREE meal at Chili’s
Chili’s offered veterans and active military members a FREE meal on November 11, 2022. Service members could select a free entrée from the following choices: Chicken Crispers, Margarita Grilled Chicken, Soup & Salad, Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas, Just Bacon Burger, Oldtimer with Cheese, or Cajun Chicken Pasta.
Cotton Patch Cafe offers veterans a FREE Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken every Veterans Day.
Every Veterans Day, all Cotton Patch Cafe restaurants serve their award-winning Chicken Fried Steak or Chicken Fried Chicken FREE to all veterans and active-duty members of the military. We expect this deal to return for Veterans Day 2023 as well!
A FREE Grand Slam at Denny’s
On November 11, 2022, Denny’s will offer a complimentary Grand Slam to all active, non-active, and retired military personnel. This offer was valid for dine-in only at participating locations from 5 a.m. to noon with a valid military ID or DD 214.
A FREE sandwich from Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
On November 11, 2022, Dickey’s gave away a FREE Pulled Pork Sandwiches to veterans for carryout and pickup.
20% off your Dollar General purchase.
On Veterans Day 2022, Dollar General gave veterans, active duty military, and their families 20% off their in-store purchases. Note that this discount was not available on DG GO! or for DG Pickup.
10% off at Dollar Tree
On November 11, 2022, all active-duty and retired military, first responders, and their families got 10% off their purchases of $10 or more at Dollar Tree.
A FREE doughnut from Dunkin’
Dunkin’gave all retired and active military a free donut of their choice on November 11, 2022. This offer was valid in-store only, and there was a limit of one per guest while supplies last.
A FREE coffee at Einstein Bros. Bagels
On November 11, all veterans and active-duty military personnel got a free hot or iced medium coffee at Einstein Bros. Bagels.
Free spaghetti from Fazoli’s
On Veterans Day 2022, Fazoli’s offered active military and veterans a FREE regular spaghetti with meat sauce or marinara sauce. This offer was valid with a military ID.
A FREE burger and fountain drink from Friendly’s
On Veterans Day 2022, Friendly’s offered a free burger and fountain drink to veterans.
FREE meals for veterans at Golden Corral
Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Night was held on Monday, November 14, 2022. Any person who has served in the U.S. Military received a free “thank you” dinner including a buffet and beverage when they dined in from 5 PM to close. This offer was valid for all active-duty military personnel, retirees, and veterans of the U.S. Military.
FREE haircuts for veterans at Great Clips
On November 11, 2022, veterans and active service members could go into any U.S. Great Clips salon and get a free haircut or a free haircut card for a future visit.
In addition, non-military customers who got a haircut on Veterans Day at Great Clips salons also had the opportunity to pay it forward. They received a free haircut card to give to an active service member or veteran they know. The cards could be redeemed for a free haircut from November 12 through December 9, 2022.
30% off your Kohl’s purchase
In-store only at Kohl’s, active and former military personnel, veterans, and their families received 30% off their Kohl’s purchases! A valid military ID was required.
A FREE combo meal at Little Caesars
Little Caesars offered veterans, active or honorably discharged members of the military a free lunch combo on November 11. This offer was available for in-store only between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm local time. Guests needed to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer.
A FREE meal at Logan’s Roadhouse
On Veterans Day 2022, Logan’s Roadhouse invited active and retired service members to enjoy a free meal from its special Veterans Day menu from 3-6 p.m. The menu included Bayou Shrimp, Chicken Tenders, Chopped Steak, Pork Chop, Pulled Pork Plate, and Steak Tips, as well as side options including Chips, Cole Slaw, Corn, Fries, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, and Rice.
A free sandwich at Mission BBQ
On November 11th, 2022, Veterans got a free sandwich at Mission BBQ.
FREE admission to select National Parks for everyone
In honor of Veterans Day 2022, visitors at more than 400 participating National Parks could take advantage of a FREE Entrance Day on November 11, 2022. This offer was valid for everyone, not just military families! Check out the list of participating parks here.
A FREE appetizer at Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom
On Veterans Day 2022, Old Chicago offered veterans a free appetizer.
A FREE meal from Pilot Flying J
In celebration of Veterans Day 2022, Pilot Company invited all active duty and retired military members to enjoy a free meal at any of its 750+ participating US travel centers.
On November 11, 2022, Veterans authenticated with ID.me in the myRewards Plus app saw an exclusive offer for a $12 meal credit in their app. This credit could be redeemed for a variety of food and beverages at any participating Pilot, Flying J, or One9 Fuel Network travel center through November 13.
The $12 Veterans Day meal credit was a rolling balance, allowing guests to use any remaining balance the next time they stopped in over Veterans Day weekend! 🙌
A FREE coffee from PJ’s
PJ’s offered a free 12 oz. hot coffee or cold brew iced coffee for Veterans and Active-duty military in 2022.
A FREE meal at Red Lobster
Red Lobster offered veterans, active-duty military, and reservists a free Walt’s Favorite Shrimp, Fries, and Coleslaw on November 11, 2022. This offer was available for dine-in and To Go orders placed in-restaurant between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm local time on November 11, 2022. Guests needed to show a valid military ID or proof of service to redeem this offer.
A FREE Tavern Double Burger with Steak Fries at Red Robin
Veterans and active military who were Red Robin Royalty members in 2022 got a FREE Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11, 2022 (dine-in only).
Up to 40% off Samsung products.
Veterans got up to 40% off Samsung products through Veterans Advantage in 2022. To access this discount, veterans had to be enrolled in Veterans Advantage’s VetBenefits program.
In addition, through Samsung’s Military Offers Program, active service members and their families also got up to 30% off phones, tablets, smartwatches, and more when shopping on Samsung.com. This includes Samsung’s new Galaxy Z Flip4, Galaxy Z Fold4, and Galaxy S22 series.
FREE chips and a drink from Schlotzky’s
Throughout the month of November 2022, Schlotzsky’s offered free chips and a small drink with an entrée purchase to veterans and active-duty service members with a valid military ID.
Schlotzky’s also ran a special on its limited-edition military-themed gift cards. For every $25 gift card purchased in-store and online, guests received a $5 reward. The $5 reward was sent to the email address of your choosing and had to be unlocked in the Schlotzsky’s Rewards App on or before 2/14/2023.

25% off your Staples purchase.
Active duty military, veterans, and their families got 25% off their in-store purchases at Staples on Veterans Day 2022.
Two free tacos from Taco John’s
Veterans who were Bigger Better Rewards Members received a FREE #1 Small Beef Combo (two crispy beef tacos) from Taco John’s on Veterans Day 2022.
10% off two separate purchases storewide at Target
Target offered veterans, military personnel, and their families a Circle offer for 10% off storewide for two weeks in November 2022. To claim this offer, guests had to verify their eligibility here. Then, the discount could be used twice either in-store or online!
FREE lunch from TGI Fridays
On November 11 only, veterans and active duty military personnel who dined in at participating TGI Fridays could receive a free meal from the following selections:
- Cheeseburger with Seasoned Fries
- Crispy Chicken Fingers with Seasoned Fries and Coleslaw
- 6 oz. Center-Cut Sirloin with Mashed Potatoes and Garlic-Butter Broccoli
- Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken
To redeem the deal, veterans and active duty military personnel needed to present a valid military ID.
FREE taco and fountain drink at Torchy’s Tacos
On November 11th of 2022, Veterans and Active Duty Military could grab a free fountain drink and taco. This offer was available in person and only with ID or proof of service.
15% off at Tractor Supply Co.
Tractor Supply Co. honored active and former military members and their dependents with a 15% discount in stores on November 11, 2022. All service members, veterans, and their dependents with a valid military ID or proof of service were eligible for the promotion.
FREE flotation therapy session from True REST Float Spa
On November 11, 2022, True REST Float Spas provided free float therapy sessions to US Military members and veterans. Float therapy is scientifically proven to safely and holistically help treat and manage the symptoms of chronic pain, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Interested veterans were encouraged to call their local True REST Float Spa to reserve their free floatation therapy appointment.
FREE burger at Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux
On November 11th, 2022, all active duty and veteran service members got a FREE Scholarship Burger at Walk-On’s. This offer was valid with proof of ID at all locations except Las Vegas and Purdue University.
FREE breakfast combo at Wendy’s
Those who have served or are currently serving in the U.S. Military could get a FREE breakfast combo from Wendy’s on Veterans Day. This offer was valid with military ID or a Veterans Advantage card at participating locations on November 11 from 6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
FREE Combo Meal from White Castle
White Castle celebrated Veterans Day 2022 by offering a free Combo Meal (#1-#6) or Breakfast Combo Meal to all veterans and active duty service members who dined in on November 11, 2022. No purchase was necessary to claim this offer, and a military ID was requested.
Discounted stays at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts
In 2022, Wyndham Rewards members received 1,000 bonus points for qualified stays booked by December 11 and completed by December 12, 2022—up to 5,000 bonus points total! This special offer was available to active and retired military members, veterans, and their families.
FREE appetizer from Yard House
On Veterans Day 2022, veterans and active-duty military personnel could receive a FREE appetizer with a valid military ID. This offer was available for dine-in guests only, and no purchase is necessary.
