Here’s What Our Team Has Done Behind The Scenes in January!
Here’s what our Hip2Save team members have been up to when we’re off the clock…
We’re back with more exciting behind-the-scenes at Hip to kick off the new year!
We’re continuing our super fun off-the-clock Hip series and giving you all a sneak peek into our lives behind the scenes every month!
Each month, we share Hip deals our team has personally scored, something we’re doing, or something we’re currently reading! While the holidays were busy for all and we’ve really taken this month to recharge and relax at home, we’re still excited to share a few behind the scenes. Thanks for being here, Hipsters! ❤️
Here’s what our team has been up to in January:
We took my daughter to our city’s free ice sculpture event.
We look forward to our city’s annual ice sculptures every January! It’s a totally FREE event and parking in the city is free on weekends. The best sculpture of all is the huge ice slide and we had so much fun I forgot to take photos, but was able to grab this screenshot from a video.
Plus, you can make an afternoon out of it by doing a scavenger hunt around the city and finding all the other fun ice sculptures outside of shops and businesses. This year our favorite taco truck happened to be in the square so we were even able to grab a cheap lunch – tacos are just $4 and quesadillas are just $3. 😍
Liz and her family chased warm weather and swam with Dolphins while saving on their photo package.
Our Hip sidekick, Liz, and her family traveled to Discovery Cove and went swimming with dolphins, stingrays, and all sorts of tropical fish! As a bonus, they allow you to book and then get a price adjustment if a better price comes up before your trip.
Luckily, she scored an even better deal when Black Friday rolled around and they were able to get a $50 gift card for each person! When they got there they were able to use the gift cards to buy the photo package for the day. She said they had such a great time, and the kids are already asking to go back!
Angela moved her daughter into a Disney dorm.
Angela was excited to help move her daughter into Disney World for her college program where she’ll be working for the mouse! The apartments, facilities, and amenities are all state-of-the-art so she’ll be living in a lap of luxury.
Although her rent isn’t free, it’ll come directly out of her paycheck while working there and she’ll get free admission to the 4 Disney parks, and big discounts on merchandise, and food – which is a huge savings for any Disney fanatic!
Alli and her husband played tourists while visiting Nashville again.
Alli finally got her picture with the popular Angel Wings wall art after many trips to Nashville. She said the Gulch area of Nashville is so fun and there are tons of awesome places to eat! They used SpotHero to reserve a parking spot in a garage which lasted all day and she said it’s generally cheaper than paying by the hour elsewhere. Plus, it was nice knowing exactly where they were going to park when they got there.
Here’s some super hot deals our team has scored this month:
I scored a deal on this modern and super functional label printer.
I was stoked when I saw our Hip deal on this trendy label maker because I love getting things organized this time of year. It’s connected to an app via Bluetooth and prints and dries instantly! It’s been so much fun to use and it was super affordable at under $25 shipped!
Even our Hip sidekick, Melissa, scooped one up!
“I can easily label everything and make labels anywhere. This is the cutest portable label maker, and it’s small enough to pack in your purse or bag when you’re on the go. It’s great to have on hand to make labels for my kiddo’s school stuff, and it’s perfect for labeling my file folders.”

Alli scored some awesome deals during the GAP Factory sale.
Alli was quick to take advantage of the 90% OFF deals and free shipping over at GAP Factory. She did say she ended up having to take a few pieces back, but she’s still thrilled with the deals she did score. Some items are over 90% OFF so you can’t beat the prices!
Out of everything she kept, she scored a GapFit sports bra and tank top which she said are seriously so comfortable. She also scored some jeans for $12.80, a t-shirt for $3.50, and a super soft and cozy cardigan for just $16 (regularly $60).
Even better, you can still shop the GAP Factory sale now and score some hot deals for yourself before they’re gone.
Star Wars fans will love this deal Liz scored for her home.
The best deal Liz said she scored this month was these amazing Spa Wars prints for her kids’ bathroom! They’re huge Star Wars fans and she loved this particular artist’s work so she patiently waited for a sale. They’re currently having an Imperfects Sale where you can score these gorgeous prints for just $5! They look like perfection despite having a few flaws. We surely can’t even tell!
Liz scored her frames from Michaels during a buy two, get two free sale! How Hip2Save! Lucky for you, all of Michaels picture frames are currently BOGO-FREE!
Here’s a few books our team is read this month:
We read the National Parks of the USA book as a family.
National Parks of the USA – $16.99
We finally celebrated Christmas with my parents and this book was something my mom gifted to my daughter. It’s so beautifully illustrated and the entire book is so digestible and interesting to read, even as an adult. We were so entertained reading about some of the parks we’ve already been to and we already added a few more to our bucket list.
Hip Tip: Grab a National Parks Pass for FREE if you have a 4th grader in the family.
Alli enjoyed this unique read that happens to be translated from Japanese.
Before the Coffee Gets Cold – $17.99 (regularly $19.99)
- Or listen to it FREE with Audible or read it FREE on Kindle Unlimited!
Alli grabbed this book when she realized it was trending on TikTok and said it was such a pleasant book to read. It’s translated from Japanese so it’s a very unique read about a cafe that transports you back in time, but there are rules you must follow. The premise of the book completely drew her and another reviewer said “an odd but charming read” and she couldn’t agree more.
Hip Tip: Thinking about giving Kindle a try? Get Kindle Unlimited FREE for 30 days or get 2 months for just $4.99!
Alli also finished this book which had some shocking surprises.
Her Last Flight: A Novel – $9.50 (regularly $16.99)
- Or listen to it FREE with Audible!
Her Last Flight is about a photographer and war correspondent who arrives at a remote surfing village on the Hawaiian island of Kauai. Their intentions are to conduct research for a biography of a forgotten aviation pioneer who joined the loyalist forces in the Spanish Civil War but never returned. This disappearance during a round-the-world flight in 1937 remains one of the world’s greatest unsolved mysteries and is sure to be a good read.
“Wow! It was SO good! Not only was the story intriguing but there were surprises within it that shocked me!” – Alli, Hip sidekick
Hip Tip: Here’s how you can score 4 months of Audible Premium Plus for only $5.95/month and you’ll also get a free $20 audible credit!
Well, Hip2Savers, on that note, we’re going to get back to bringing you all the best deals.
We’ll bring back more love next month! ❤️
What a lovely post to share! Beautiful team. You all are always so kind & caring each time you remark or comment back to a posting person on hip2save. Thank you so much for what you give us! It’s a wonderful job to have I can see that! ♡
You’re SO very welcome! 🤗 Thank YOU so very much for being a valued reader and for the super sweet comment! Glad you enjoyed the post! 💞
Ditto above, and love to see what you are up to. Also gives me a couple ideas….
Yay! So exciting! 🙌 Glad this was inspiring! 🎊 Thanks for the kind words and for stopping by! 💞
Love reading these updates. Only comment is that I would strongly advise against vacations involving swimming with dolphins as it is actually a cruel form of entertainment to force wild animals to live in captivity. In the wild dolphins would swim 40 miles a day. You can read more info here: https://www.worldanimalprotection.us/blogs/5-reasons-you-should-never-swim-dolphins-vacation
Ditto Jpick & Olgraygirl. Thank you for sharing the wonderful stories and photos! Definitely hard dealing with the public and agreed you are all always so kind. You probably need more than a month to recharge though. 😉 Thank you for all you do!
You’re most welcome, Jennifer! ❤️❤️ Thanks so much for being a part of our Hip2save community!
Hi Hip 2 save team, Love this post. I am trying to plan a trip to Cambridge and London for a week in June with a friend. I have never been out of the U.S. and neither has she. Any good tips on where to look for cheap flights and/or coupon codes for hotels and how to get around there since we won’t have a car? I have done a little research already and new it would be expensive but I was sticker shocked on flights . Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!
So glad you’re loving this post, Diane! 🤗❤️ We have a post on helpful travel tips here, if you’d like to check that out! Hoping this is helpful and you have a safe and fun trip this summer! 🎉
Thanks for your response. I will check it out.
You’re welcome! 🥰
