We recently moved to an open-floor plan, ranch-style home. It seemed ideal for a robot vacuum. The bObsweep pet hair SLAM was on a steep discount for a new, high-tech, mapping robot. Given the excellent return policy, we tried it out.
Bob works great! We have mostly wood and tile flooring with some low piles and decorative area rugs. It cleans all surfaces very well. After running around the house a few times, there is little cat or dog hair left to be removed. It gets in all the corners and under the furniture edges without a problem. Because the LiDAR eye is a small raised disc on top, the sides remain low profile to the edge under furniture. Bob even managed to go completely under some of our shelving and a storage bench.
I understand older robot vacuums just bounced around the house without the ability to remember what had been cleaned. Due to the mapping functionality, this device knows where it’s been and what is left to clean. Pretty neat.
