Here’s a game-changing tip: Use the Walmart app like a running grocery list. Every time you run out of something – coffee, paper towels, dog food, whatever – just add it to your Walmart cart in the moment. No scrambling to remember what you need later.
Then, come Monday (or whatever your go-to day is), open the app, review your cart, place the order with your Walmart+ membership, and boom:
✅ No forgotten items
✅ No wasted time
It’s the easiest way to shop smarter, not harder. 😉
And if you follow Collin on our social media channels, you’re sure to have seen her talk about her love for her Walmart+ membership. Her favorite time and money saving benefit is free shipping: getting groceries and more delivered for free right to your doorstep can’t be beat. ($35 order min. Subject to availability. T&C apply.)
Walmart+ membership benefits go past just the store…
Score Gas Savings: Save 10¢ per gallon at over 13,000 stations nationwide (5¢ savings in AL & OK only. Subject to change.). If you’re hitting the road the summer, this benefit alone could pay for your Walmart+ membership.
Enjoy Burger King® savings: Save yourself time & money with Burger King® savings. (Valid at part. U.S. BK’s, in the BK App or BK.com for members only. Terms apply.) The savings are convenient not only for when you’re eating on the go, but also when time is short on weeknights and you need to grab dinner for the whole family.
Collin gives her Walmart+ membership high praise 🤩 but she’s not the only team member who’s obsessed…

I have had a Walmart+ membership for years and used the benefits frequently. But when the delivery zone in my area was recently expanded to include my home address, I was even more excited. Just wondering, on the home grocery delivery, are you supposed to tip the delivery driver?
I did a week trial of Walmart plus, when you check out there is a tip percentage choice. That alone made me cancel it. Not worth it having to tip. Don’t have to deal with that on Amazon.
You don’t have to tip. Just push customize and put 0.
Please don’t NOT tip. These drivers depend on tips for wages. Don’t get me wrong I am for stupid tips like Starbucks, grocery or carryout food from places like Chipotle where they are paid a wage. I dislike how the tipping culture has gotten but there are some areas that rely on tips. To avoid I either pickup groceries ordered or use Walmart in home which its not an option. To me that is worth the price also so I don’t have to worry if I tip too much or too little.
Great question! Tipping for Walmart grocery delivery is optional but appreciated. You can add a tip at checkout or up to 14 days later. Since most deliveries are handled by third-party drivers (like DoorDash), a tip can go a long way—especially with gas and time. Some readers go with a flat dollar amount (like $5), while others might tip 10–20%, depending on the size of the order. ❤️
For Walmart InHome delivery, tipping isn’t expected or even an option. InHome drivers are hourly Walmart employees, and the service is designed to be tip-free. If you order delivery a lot, the InHome add-on (currently $19.95/month or $138/year) could actually save you money compared to tipping on every individual order.
Hope this helps! 🤗
Walmart doesn’t use Door Dash. They literally own their delivery service. It’s called Spark.
Sorry for any confusion, Ann. I had used DoorDash as an example on 3rd party delivery services. 🤗 Thanks for the additional details on Spark!
Yes, I can’t bring myself not to tip the driver, most say between $10-20 dollars so for me and my family of six it’s not worth delivery because my orders tend to be bigger.
I always tip the driver the recommended amount. It’s only fair. Plus it saves me lots of time and gas money to not have to shop myself. I can get groceries and other household supplies at the same time for the lowest price in my area. So worth it!
Yes you tip the driver. They get a small base amt to deliver plus the tip. So the tip makes a big difference in what they make.
Yes. Tip your driver
Without a doubt!!! Yes! Depending on the size of your order.
I was under the impression that if you ordered anything over $35.00 the delivery was as free – or is that just for shipped items?
Hi Tammy! There is a minimum purchase requirement of $35 to qualify for free delivery. There is no minimum purchase requirement for free shipping for Walmart+ members. Hoping this is helpful! 🩷
Gotcha! Thanks so much for the info!
You’re very welcome! 😊
It may be different in other states or areas. With my Walmart plus, shipping is free no matter how small the order. You didn’t even mention that you get Paramount plus free with membership.
AARP members are $58 a year.
SWEET! Thanks, Amy!
How do you get the AARP discount for the W+ membership?
And you don’t have to be a certain age to get aarp…
For current Walmart+ members, AARP just increased their available discount on WM+ membership to $40 per year! I just added that to my WM+ account and it will renew this month at $58. The previous discount was $20 to $30, I think. The new discount is even higher than the Walmart Spark survey program that I also participate in, which is 30 percent (nearly $30). Search for Walmart Plus at AARP.org With FIVE drivers in my household, the gas savings alone has been a godsend.
Oh cool! Thank you so much, Jen! Good to know you can save on Walmart+ with AARP! 💕🙌
Hi,does anyone know if this AARP,Walmart deals auto renews every year at $58 being an AARP member ? thanks.
If you have an amex or chase card check your merchant offers. Mine sometimes has offers for money back if you pay for the membership with that card
Sweet! Thanks for sharing this helpful tip to check for cash back offers from your credit card company! 🩷
I just started using Walmart+ delivery. Once I had a delivery with multiple bags, each with a printed label with my name on it. In that case, I presumed the driver just picked up and then dropped off my order, so I gave a $5 tip. The second time, someone texted me their name and said they were shopping for me and then they also did the delivery. I was uncomfortable with this because then I felt obligated to tip more–were they not a Walmart employee? Thanks for any advice on this. It’s not in my budget to tip 10-20%.
Thanks so much for sharing your experience, Molly—and great question! ❤️ Walmart+ deliveries are often handled by third-party drivers through services like Spark. In some cases, those drivers will shop and deliver your order, while other times, Walmart employees may shop it and a Spark driver handles just the drop-off—it can vary based on your area and order type.
Walmart also occasionally partners with other services like DoorDash, Uber, or Postmates for deliveries, especially during busy times or in areas where Spark isn’t as active. So when someone texts you their name and updates, it’s likely a Spark driver (or another third-party driver) handling both parts of the order. They’re not Walmart employees, but independent contractors.
If you order often, you might check out Walmart InHome—Collin prefers this! 🙌 It’s an additional service (for an extra fee with Walmart+) that uses only Walmart employees who deliver straight into your home or garage—even putting items in your fridge if you’d like—and since it’s Walmart employees, there’s no tipping required or available during the order or checkout process. It’s not available everywhere, but could be a great option if it’s offered in your area!
teach me how to get the gas discount like I am 5. I’ve tried to figure it out a few times but can’t find a place in the app for it.
Hey there! You can click here for a helpful step-by-step guide on how to score the fuel savings, depending on the type of gas station you’re at! ⛽️❤️
Be careful about substitutions though. At checkout, you can specify whether you want a substitution and what you would prefer as a substitute.
Appreciate the heads up on substitutions, ts! Good to know where to spot that preference! 🙌
I haven’t had a good experience with Walmart plus in the past. I decided to give it another shot. My first delivery everything smelled like weed. I didn’t complain or change my tip. They know where I live, I don’t want to make them mad. 🙃
Paramount is part of the membership
Yes! Such a great perk too! Thanks for mentioning that. ☺️
Ive had it for several years. Im getting ready to cancel. They have gotten to where they dont have most products and substitute for delivery. Ive had items that ive ordered ship to home that never came and when call customer service, they say delivery is at your door now or down street and they dont make it easy to get it fixed or refunded. I will say the best part of walmart plus is the scan and go. But price wise Its just too much work on my end for low stock, no stock, and bad customer service.
We love WM+. Do I want to carry 4 gallons of water to my car and then into the house in this heat—NO! Cartons of soda—NO! And the pants I ordered don’t fit. Return to the store—NO! Easy peasy pack them up and the second FedX scans them my refund is processed. Need I say more?!
I love my Walmart + membership. I use it often. Glad to learn of the AARP discount! But I also have issues with the tipping. If I’m paying for a delivery service, I expect them to pay a decent wage to the delivery person. I always tip for service every where else.
You don’t even mention the Walmart+ lane, which never has a soul in it, or the subscription to Paramount+!
Yes, love those benefits too, Amanda! 🙌 Thank you! Here’s a full list of membership benefits if helpful! 💕
Are your groceries always delivered in their reusable bags or are those purchased separately and they put your groceries in them? Thanks
Hi Gina! I live in New York state so typically my orders are delivered in paper bags (plastic grocery bags were banned several years ago here). However, if I add reusable bags for purchase to my order, they will be delivered in those bags instead.
If you do an order pickup instead of delivery and bring your own bags in your vehicle, they’ll package your order in your bags instead of having to repurchase them. I hope that helps!
That’s great to know. Thank you for the info. I am going to add the reusable bags next time I order.
