It’s Back! Amazon Will Give Your Delivery Driver $5 – Just Say “Alexa, Thank My Driver!”
Amazon wants to help you say Thank You… AGAIN!
Just received an Amazon package? It’s a great time to say Thank You to your delivery driver! Just grab any Alexa-enabled device (Echo, Echo Show) or the Alexa or Amazon Shopping mobile apps and say ‘Alexa, thank my driver’. Not only will your driver receive a message that you sent your thanks, but the first million messages sent will also give the driver an extra $5!
Amazon offered this promotion on December 8th and hit their million messages mark in just ONE day! 🙌 They are extending the promotion for an additional million messages starting today, December 21st, so make sure to thank your driver before this offer ends again!

Thanks! I just received a delivery, I pushed the Alexa feature in the Amazon app and said it there and they confirmed that the delivery driver would receive the bonus.

You could get the Alexa app and it should work
You can click the little Alexa microphone in the Amazon app. In iPhone it’s on the bottom right. You have to enable microphone access

Was it USPS or UPS? It only works for Amazon deliveries.

Isn’t Amazon getting sued over taking tips from their workers?
Yes. The DC Attorney General just filed suit against Amazon alleging they took tips and used the money to pay wages in the Amazon Flex program. “Alexa, thank my driver” seems like a different promotion.
Worked! Just used the Alexa app and was able to thank our driver (we’ve had a few over the last couple of days lol)

if anyone is looking– on the home screen in app, there is a little blue and white speech bubble in the lower right corner that enables you to ask Alexa to thank the driver.

Does anyone else find it creepy that they *require* you to use Alexa for this? I used to work at a financial firm who took security very seriously, and they did not recommend using any voice-activated system that would record your likeness (which Amazon does). Love the tip concept (especially around the holidays!), just wish we had an option to select it on our ‘orders’ page.
Hey Jen! You can also thank your driver using Alexa on the Amazon App by opening the app and tapping on the Alexa button in the bottom right corner of the screen to speak. Once the microphone permissions are enabled, you can tap the Alexa button again and say, “Alexa, Thank My Driver.” You could then go back to your phone settings and turn the microphone permissions off afterward, if you’d like. Hoping this might be helpful! 💕

Hey Janene! I’m not finding any details on being able to program this offer, but readers have had luck thanking their driver at a later time in the day. I also found this in the FAQ of the promotion – “Deliveries are only eligible for this promotion for 14 days after the delivery is made.” Hoping this helps! 💕
Trying to share this post on FB but it won’t let me. I did however use the Alexa feature in the app and my package that was delivered on the 3rd will tip that driver $5
