Over 1.9 Million YETI Soft Coolers Recalled Due to Ingestion Hazard
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced a nationwide recall for a variety of YETI soft coolers and gear cases. These products have magnet-lined closures that do not function well, resulting in detached magnets.
These magnets are an ingestion hazard that can result in fatal injuries or worse. If more than two are swallowed, they can attract to each other within the digestion system, which is a very high-risk health hazard.
Although no fatalities have been claimed, 1,399 reports have been filed over concerns about the magnets detaching from the bags. For this reason, YETI is taking the initiative to prevent any potential damage. Below you will find the specific products being recalled and how to submit your claim.
The items being recalled are YETI Hopper M20 Soft Backpack Cooler in Charcoal color, YETI Hopper M30 1.0 – Soft Cooler in Charcoal color, YETI Hopper M30 2.0 -Soft Cooler in Charcoal color, and YETI SideKick Dry Gear Case in Charcoal color. Over 1.9 million of these products have been sold in the United States, with over 40,000 sold in Canada.
To submit your claim, you can call YETI between 7 AM and 7 PM Monday-Sunday at 833-444-3151 or email at productrecall@yeti.com.
