What is The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste?

It’s a powerful all-purpose cleaning paste that is gentle on surfaces but is also tough on stains. The ideal uses for it include cleaning saucepans, ovens, barbecues, ceramic tiles, glass, rust, sinks, garden furniture, paintwork, boats, stove cooktops, copper, and much more.

You basically just grab a rag or sponge, dip it in The Pink Stuff, and start scrubbing! I found that it is quite an effective cleaner, especially compared to the spray-on cleaners I am used to using.  Keep in mind you do have to put some elbow grease into it for the really baked-on stains.

using the pink stuff to clean the oven

The Pink Stuff cleaned my oven like a champ!!

I used a Scrub Daddy sponge with the cleaning paste and scrubbed out my oven easily. There were a few spots that required some harder scrubbing, but it did so well! I let it soak in for a few minutes, then scrubbed it. I am super impressed!

I took the oven rack out that was brown from baked-on grease and grime, and scrubbed it too over the sink, and it now looks brand new!

before and after cleaning oven

The Pink Stuff’s primary ingredients are baking soda, quartz, sodium silicate, and soap, which makes sense with its ability to break down baked-on grease. It may not be great for polished surfaces as it could scratch, and also it could take the paint off of walls, so be sure to spot test on certain surfaces first before scrubbing.

There is no chemical smell to this cleaning paste, which is amazing too!

cleaning the stove top with the pink cleaner

Did you know that if you take apart your gas stove it could look like this? Ha!

I thought I was good at keeping my stovetop clean, but I guess not! No worries though, The Pink Stuff cleaner took care of that grease in no time. I scrubbed with the sponge first and then went over it with a microfiber rag. It looks shiny and new now- yippee!

cleaning stainless dishware with pink stuff cleaner

The Pink Stuff cleaner is also great for cleaning up cookware!

I tested it on a stainless pot that had some tough burn marks on the inside that wouldn’t come off with dish soap. Using just a little cleaning paste, they were wiped off easily. Now it’s super shiny and new looking!

before an after cleaning enamel cast iron with Pink stuff

Here is another example of a cast iron enamel pot that has some baked-on stains. I just scrubbed the inside with The Pink Stuff, and it got it fairly clean quickly!

I can’t wait to try this on my baking sheet pans next!

Check out what these hip readers have to say…

This stuff is nearly miraculous. The glass on my oven door is always so hard to clean. It took care of the baked-on grease so well, and the bottom of my oven with baked-on cheese and junk. Also cleans my sink and stove top.

If you enjoy cleaning tips and supplies that actually work, try this stuff out! I think it’s highly satisfying to clean things like this and see a before and after. I am looking forward to using it in more areas around the house.

Used this on my glass cooktop today to remove the “cooked on” stains/rings around the burners. Works great!

I just found the spray version in Ross stores for $5.99 after falling in love with the paste version… Because of this post. ❤️

Great for the toilet! Those hard-to-get-off messes. I buy every 3 months on Amazon

I recently discovered this also. It’s amazing for hard water marks on glass shower doors. Also, it worked a miracle on my oven door. I bought the scrubbers that connect to a drill to make it so much easier to scrub.

Conclusion: The Pink Stuff cleaner ROCKS.

See why the Scrub Daddy sponge is a team favorite for cleaning in the kitchen!

I’m puzzled by this stuff. How is it better than a $1 can of Bon Ami or Bar Keeper’s friend + a Scrub Daddy? I’m having trouble figuring out what it adds to old-fashioned scouring powder.

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

So in my experience, the pink stuff doesn’t leave a film like bar keepers friend can. It’s also free of the harsh chemicals BKF has and more eco-friendly. The cream is easier to work with then powder in my opinion, and the smell is more pleasant. Hope this helps. Its ultimately personal preference.

      • Karajayne3

I wanted to just add it smells so much better than bar keepers. I’ll always love bar keepers but this stuff smells so good and works just as great! Plus i’ve been having a hard time finding the liquid bar keepers in stock which is why I tried it! Will I use bar keepers still? Heck yes but this stuff is great too!

What does everyone use to clean baked on cooking spray from glass pans and baking sheets?

    • CleanLady

Baking soda and lemon. Sometimes I can get it with just baking soda. Make a little paste and let it sit for a little while. If it is grease, blue Dawn dish soap is awesome. Sometimes I add the blue Dawn with baking soda. HTH

    • Lina D (Hip2Save Sidekick)

Dawn dish spray is great, pink stuff is also great on baking sheets. Also the pink Brillo pads.

    • Princess'Mom

For my glass pans, I use a Brillo pad to clean off the spray that gets baked on the edges.

    • Malinda

      Magic Eraser on glass.

  3. Amy Knightley

I never tried it on my pans…I didnt know if it was safe for that…very cool!! I do love this stuff I do use it almost everywhere!!

  4. memeof5

Absolutely love this stuff! Amazing on my glass stovetop and stainless steel sink….

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks, memeof5! We sure appreciate you sharing this feedback.🥰

  5. Donna

This stuff is great on tennis shoes too! Scrub the soles and bottoms of shoes, wash in machine and they come out looking brand new!

    • Kay

What other tips do u use to wash shoes in the washer, such as settings? I did it once n failed. My shoes didn’t look much better.

      • Rebecca

Hi! I use a huggies baby wipe (they’re thicker than most brands & seem to work best) with LA Awesome yellow cleaner. That can be found at the dollar tree or Rite-aid dollar section. I feel like the wash machine is to clean the smell off & not the dirt IMO. The method I stated has made all my shoes look brand new!

        • Kay

Thanks so much for your tips.

        • Lisa’s Ghost Writer

LA Awesome (the yellow stuff from Dollar Tree) is awesome! I leave a small spray bottle in my bathroom and pretreat all my stains before I throw them into the laundry basket. If they’re really bad I’ll wash them out with it first (maybe add a bit of blue Dawn). For $1.25 it can’t be beat!

      • smoresto

I have used the pressure washer on my shoes before. It worked great. They just take a while to dry. But I did it in the summer and placed them in the sun to dry.

        • Ms. Frizzle

We always set our shoes sideways in front of our (side by side) fridge where the vent is and they’d dry sooo fast. Most modern fridges don’t have air flowing there anymore though :/

  6. Sue

Does anyone know if this will work on dog pee stains in the bath tub. The house we got has these stains and nothing we tried could take them off!!

    • Alli (Hip Sidekick)

I don’t have experience using this with pet stains, Sue, but I use this paste in my bathtub for normal dirt and grime and it works SO well!

    • Lisa’s Ghost Writer

I’ve never tried this pink stuff but have you tried the old fashioned scrub cleanser Comet with Bleach? They sell it at Dollar Tree. It takes a bunch of elbow grease but it does a good job. If I’m feeling a bit lazy I’ll spray a foaming cleaner like Scrubbing Bubbles (or even the generic one in Dollar Tree) first, then in about 15+ minutes I’ll scrub the tub with either a rag or a scrubbby green/yellow sponge (haven’t tried Scrub Daddy there yet come to think of it).

Maybe give it a try if all else fails. Good luck 👍🏻

    • Sofia

I wash my dogs in the bathtub, but they do not pee in there. However, some stain accumulates, and I do not know if it is from my dogs or naturally occurring. The stain is hard to remove. From my experience, Magic eraser and Lysol gel for toilet bowl works the best.

  7. NinaJ

Does anyone know if this works on burnt on food? Any suggestions for something that does?

    • Alli (Hip Sidekick)

Hey there NinaJ – I’ve used this several times on the inside of my Dutch Oven, and it works super well for that. Lina also used her paste on the inside of her stainless steel pot and it cleaned up all the burnt food that dish soap couldn’t handle. Hope this helps!

  8. Kasi

Can this be used on granite countertops? I have hard water around my bathroom faucet but I have granite and I’m not sure what to use?

    • Alli (Hip Sidekick)

You can definitely use it on your countertops, Kasi!

      • Kasi

Wonderful! Thank you for the info!

  9. sgreenlee

Love love love this stuff!!!! It works amazingly on tubs and showers, on my gas stovetop, and everywhere else I’ve used it. I love the smell too!

    • Claudette (Hip Sidekick)

Thanks for sharing, we sure appreciate the feedback!! ❣️😊

  10. Mary

I lived in the UK and got this stuff over there and used it and it worked very well. The only thing I would suggest is to not use it on the inside of your cookware as it does leave a film. The first time I used it and then cooked, things tasted funny. I have never used it on the inside of the pan since, but I have never seen anything to prove it right or wrong, just the taste of the food when I used it. The other thing I wish we could get over here from there is their calcium cleaner, it works like a charm and we have nothing that even comes close to removing calcium and lime from around the house. I was able to bring back several bottles of it but they have all been used. Makes me so sad.

  11. Stacey

I love this stuff!! Keep an eye out at your local TJMaxx and Marshall’s. I found an extra large tub (half again as large as the regular) for only $4. Not only was it less than the original size posted here I got an extra amount for free!

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

Sweet! Thanks for sharing where you’ve found this at near you, Stacey!

  12. siena95

Been impressed with this stuff. It has sand or some type micro particle that helps clean. Stainless, oven, etc

    • Jessica (Hip Sidekick)

So glad to hear you’re a fan of this cleaner and it works well on multiple surfaces, siena95! Thanks so much for commenting. 💕

  13. Teresa

By the description of the pink stuff, it sounds like it is a similar product to the Amway cleaner. I don’t know if you’re familiar with the Amway pink cleaner. It works so well, but I hated dealing with Amway and trying to order just one item. Thanks for the post. I’ll give the pink stuff a try!

    • Elaine Kasten

I love the pink Amway cleaner made from cherry pits! I think it is better than this one. I bought some from Amazon several years ago, but don’t see it on there now. Course I can’t remember the name!

      • Maggie

Cherry pits have some naturally occurring cyanide in them that only gets released if you crush them….so….crushed cherry pits are a natural ingredient that would give me pause! LOL

How does this compare to H2O at home cleaning clay?
