Thanks for these! I love drinking my coffee in an insulated mug as a mom whose coffee often gets cold in a regular mug before I have time to finish it!
Another great option I didn’t see on your list is RTIC – they have tumblers as well as coffee mugs with handles in lots of cute colors!
Thanks for the suggestion, Sarah!
I second RTIC brand anything. I have not been impressed with Yeti at all, but love my RTIC.
Yes we love RTIC mugs! Adorable colors and amazing value.
Thank you for sharing this helpful info! We appreciate all you do!
You’re so welcome!! So glad you loved this post. 🙂
With the mug that didn’t make the cut, one of your reasons why it wasn’t worth it was because the mug itself is hand wash only. Aren’t all those mugs handwash only? If that’s the case it shouldn’t be a negative point against that particular mug.
I don’t have information on the other brands, but we have a number of Yeti mugs and cups – they are all top-rack dishwasher safe, as are their lids.
Hey there! Thanks for asking! All of the Yeti and Hydro Flasks are made to be dishwasher safe now which are the ones I use daily, so handwashing is a big drawback for me. 🙂
Thank you for the clarification. It’s great to know that they are making them dishwasher safe now. That was always one of the big drawbacks for me. I might have to get one for my husband now.
You’re so welcome! They made the switch about 2 years ago and I just happened to scoop mine up right after the big change! I have no doubt your hubby will love it! Let me know which one you decide to get. 🙂
Lol. I put my non dishwasher safe ones in the dishwasher. 😊
So strange… we handwash EVERYTHING. Yes, we have a dishwasher, but we like instant gratification. 😁
I’m a big fan of the Contigo hot tumblers from Kohl’s. They have some where you’ve got to press the button to drink and as soon as you let go it’s closed. Can I tell you how great that is for someone who’s knocked over more coffees onto her computer than she wants to admit? 😉
Team contigo all the way. I think they are out of vogue but are so practical and have the best leak proof lids around. Plus a lot of others are too big for my cup holder or even to hold in one hand comfortably.
Oh gosh! Haha well, I’m so glad your computer has always pulled through thanks to your awesome mug! Thanks for stopping by to share your recommendation with us!
I agree that Contigo is the best! I trust the leak proof lid so much that I regularly toss it in my bag on the way to work. Sometimes it’s upside down by the time I get there and still no leaks plus it keeps my coffee piping hot.
I found Ozark Trail tumblers on clearance yesterday for $1.70! I have a Yeti, a bunch of Ozark Trails, and assorted other insulated bottles/tumblers. They all perform well but the Ozark Trail cups are our daily drinkers. After years of use and some abuse, they’ve held up well. The paint is slightly scratched on some, especially the bottoms, from being placed on concrete at the pool, but no complaints at all.
SWEET! Thanks for the heads up on your find and for letting us know how well those have held up for you! We’ve found some mugs and water bottles on clearance from Walmart recently too! https://hip2save-com-develop.go-vip.co/2021/03/03/water-bottles-tumblers-coffee-mugs-from-4-85-at-walmart-regularly-10/
I’ve tried the YETI coffee mug and it just didn’t perform well for me. My coffee was cold in minutes. I’m so glad others have had luck with it. But, I tried TERVIS Stainless steel (baby yoda a.k.a. Grogu tumbler) and it works *so* well. I LOVE mine and keeps my coffee hot for hours. 🙂
I’m so glad you’ve found a mug that works well for you, Jen!
You have to put hot water in it to warm it first.
Well that seems like extra steps that I don’t need in the morning lol
I just got my Yeti coffee mug. I am so bummed that my hot tea doesn’t stay hot. I even put hot water in the mug to warm up first. I have a Contigo travel mug that stays hot for hours. I am so disappointed.
Anything handwash only is an automatic “no” in my book. If I ruin something in my dishwasher, I didn’t want it that bad in the first place. 😂 I have a yeti tumbler I got as a gift for my birthday last March and it’s been great. Looks brand new and I use it all the time.
Thanks so great, Emily! We love our Yeti too! They really are worth every penny!
A while back y’all recommended an insulated mug from Walmart – around $8.00. I bought one of these and it was unbelievable and equal to Yeti at 1/3 of the cost. Someone borrowed mine and never returned it and I need to get another one.
Hmm, could it have been from this old Contigo post? https://hip2save-com-develop.go-vip.co/2019/05/08/contigo-handled-stainless-steel-travel-mug-just-8-regularly-25/
We’ve also posted about the Ozark Trail brand from Walmart. https://hip2save-com-develop.go-vip.co/?s=ozark+trail
Hope this is helpful!
Yeap that’s the one — absolutely great. Thanks a bunch.
Yay! You’re welcome!
Am I the only one who hates these for hot drinks? I want my drink to cool at some point so I can drink it without burning my mouth LOL
Yes!
Lol I use to think that too..what i end up doing is leaving the lid off after I get to work at my desk. But I need leakproof lid to get me out the door, through the car ride, and into the building with. Once I’m where I need to be, I take the lid off and it cools much more gradually than if it were in a mug.
Another thing I did the other day was I actually washed the inside of the yeti with cold water to cool my coffee to a good temp so I could enjoy it even in the car .
And if I drink hot coffee too fast, I find myself needing to go bathroom much quicker. The gradual sips saves me from the bathroom trip for at least two hours!
Yesssss!
I know that these are ridiculously expensive but man I must say one of my best purchases this past year! Bluetooth connected to your phone to keep your coffee at your preferred temp for 1-2 hours. I purchased the 14 oz over the 10 oz which was $30 more but glad I did. They also have a travel mug one, which I don’t need but for those who do I would seriously consider it. Amongst the people I know I have only heard how much people have loved that they got these!

I love the Beast products. They are dishwasher safe. They are just as good as Tervis but cheaper.

Love the: Insulated Skinny Stainless Steel Tumbler-18 oz Coffee Tumbler with Flip-Top Lid by Fine Dine sold on Amazon. It is totally leakproof and keeps the coffee HOT for at least 3 hours!!! Pretty colors and a deal at $12.75. Only drawback is that it is not dishwasher safe.
Thanks for sharing, Maria B! Good to know what has been your favorite! 🙌🤗
I have been searching for affordable travel mugs that do not have a silicone/ rubber ring around the lid as they get moldy and are hard to fully clean. I do like my Hydro flask ones where the lid screws on and I did find one at Walmart that does the same but most do not. I’m hoping company’s will start to manufacture more of those.
Glad you found one from Walmart with the type of lid you like best, Kelley! 🙌❤️ I agree! Some can be hard to clean!
I don’t see the Frosted Frog mugs on the list. They are Great and Price Point is Awesome, I use my Frosted Frog Mug more than my Yeti. Check Them out FrostedFrog.com
Thanks for sharing your feedback and recommendation, Chaz! Glad you’ve found an insulated mug that you love! ❤️
