The Declutter Checklist — Everything You Should Purge From Your Home
Love Marie Kondo?
So do millions of other people around the world and now you need to go full-on Marie Kondo to all the rooms in your home. That means removing anything that doesn’t “spark joy”… which might mean that you actually have a ton of stuff. What do you keep? What do you toss? How do you make your way through the abyss of clutter?
Organizing can be overwhelming, so we’ve created a home declutter checklist to help you tackle your clothing, books, papers, mementos, and miscellaneous items in a focused format.
Starting with your wardrobe, you’ll go through your clothes by categories and start trimming away at the pieces that don’t bring happiness when you hold them. Then separate each article into piles of keep, donate/sell, and trash. If you’re not sure if something should make the cut, try this quick hanging method in your closet to see which pieces are seldom (if ever!) worn.
Once sorted, put back the “keep” pile into the closet and neatly organize drawers. We love the idea of folding using the KonMari method to maximize on space potential. Check out how Lina uses the method in her son’s bedroom to make all his clothes visible within the drawers.
And your clothes are just the start! As you go through your home, you’ll declutter room by room attacking each category and checking it off the list. I think you’ll be pretty impressed by the joy and relief of having beautiful, clutter-free spaces. Just check out the impressive transformation of Lina’s pantry when she decluttered and reorganized!
So are you ready to get started?
